Brad,
You are wearing light armor (leather, hide, heavy cloth), but it is built so that it does not hinder your movements. So you are wearing light armor, grants you light armor values (4 armor points), but does not increase increase your weight value for determining what skills can be used.

Julie,
The total repair time is set at 30 minutes to fully repair a suit of armor to full. Level does not matter.
Off the top of my head it cost 30 units to make a new complete suit of armor. The chart in the rule book should be correct on the cost to make things.

K and I'm not in agreement on the repair time for a master craftsman would know how to effectively repair armor better then the common tinkerer. I would think they could cut that time down by half.
Am interested in knowing how that blanket decision was reached.
I thought the number was thirty on the full suit, but just wanted it varified for easy pocket reference.

Dead pirate betrayed by Corbyn...ah well least I made him do his own dirty work when he killed me.
Its real simple guys:
Master crafters can make armor that EITHER protects you better OR encumbers you less.
for example....if you , the player, own a set of chainmail, your PC can have a set of chain made IN GAME that is as encumbering and skill restricting as light armor; OR if you only own real leather scale armor, your PC can have a set of leather made IN GAME that protects you as effectvly as chain would.
the armor classes (light, medium, and heavy) are now based on the points pf proteection your phys-rep provides. In other words, if you are wearing a plate torso with chain arm and leg covering, you are at 7 armor points and therefore medium armor. Add a helm and you are at 8 and now in heavy armor.
The rule book says this:

As for the time it takes to make armor, its in the book as well. If you want plate mail (heavy armor) it takes 60 hours for a level 2 crafter, 40 for a level 3 crafter, or 20 for a master crafter. If you also wanted that plate to be "master crafted", it would take a level 4 crafter 23 hours for a full set (20 for base armor and an hour per location extra) and take 26 steel (30 if for some reason you want a master crafted helm, even though they currently seem to have no advantage over normal helms)Armor
Armor points are given based upon type represented and number of locations on the body covered. There are three locations on the body (arms, legs, and a chest). Each location gives between 1 and 3 armor points based on the type of armor worn. Examples are: leather would give 1 point, studded leather or chain would give 2, and plate would give 3. Head protection gives 1 additional point no matter what type it is.
Total armor category is determined by how many armor points you are wearing. This is important to know when attempting to use certain skills. The numbers are as follows (Note: The points gained from quality do not count in this number):
1-4 Light
5-7 Medium
8-10 Heavy
Shields
1) A shield increases your armor category by 1. Thus if you are wearing light armor but are carrying a shield, you care considered to be wearing medium armor. The exception to this rule is that a buckler does not increase your armor category.
Level 4: Make masterwork items.
Make quality armor that gives +1 armor per location. Make master items armor/weapons 1 hr per location. (enchantable Permanent)
Times in hours (resources in units)
Level of Craftsman Heavy Armor Medium Armor Light Armor Large Weapons Medium Weapons Small Weapons
2 60 (*) 55 (*) 50 (*) 45 (6) 40 (4) 35 (2)
3 40 (*) 35 (*) 30 (*) 30 (6) 25 (4) 20 (2)
4 20 (*) 15 (*) 10 (*) 15 10 5

I here you speak of armor and the way of smithing. I will tell what I know.
I go by the name Blackthorn Helldrummer and have been smithing for most of my life. It goes like this
Quality - No encurbance benifit
Weight Catergory - Phyrep to wear - Armor Points
None - Light Armor - 4
Light Armor - Medium Armor - 7
Medium Armor - Heavy Armor - 10
Quality - extra protection
Weight Catergory - Phyrep to wear - Armor Points
Light Armor - Light Armor - 7
Medium Armor - Medium Armor - 10
Heavy Armor - Heavy Armor - 13

Sleep
I have always played it if you are under an effect and you are hit by the same effect again, your time restarts.
Ex: I have been never pinch and have been asleep for 3 minutes and get hit agin for nerve pinch. I would have to start over and wait for 5 minutes before waking.
