Taunt/Sleep and Parry
According to page 35, Taunt(melee) and Sleep(melee) may not be parried. Is that correct? (packet sleep or taunt would definiatly not be.)

Delivery with a melee weapon
In general attacks delivered with a melee weapon can be parried. This includes fear, taunt, and knockout. Magic sleep, root, fear, through packet cannot be parried.
Remember a parry can only be used for frontal melee attacks however.

I will check... to be honest you may be able to... I can't remember what the ruling was, I'll get back to you.

I do not think the text in the book is incorrect, nor should it be changed on that issue. Not everything needs to be parryable. Besides, There shouldn't be rule changes mid year and it is in the book as it is.

current ruling on parry
Parry/Avoid Blow{ TC \l5 "}
A character can now spend a LP to reduce the damage delivered from any single frontal melee attack to 0. In
addition, they may also parry knockout, disarm, and crush attacks delivered from a melee weapon.
Above is the current ruling on parry. Sleep should not be delivered with a melee weapon - as an assassin needs a fist phys rep - not a melee weapon. Magic sleep through packet may not be parried... I think taunt and fear can, but will check with the other marshalls to be sure.

Crush has changed Julie, at first you couldn't parry it but you have been able to for a couple of years now.
No fists aren't melee weapons, and monk, rogue and assasin is really the only thing that uses fist phys reps.
It is a conundrum for rogue though, if they use a fist phys rep can it be parried?

Yah. Now we have a Valkyn'vi, rogue interrigator Brawler with an 18 knock out that can not be parried.

Um...It says in the parry skill that you CAN parry knockout as long as it is delivered from the front. The things you cannot parry are taunt, sleep, fear. In my opinion we should just say that you can parry any melee attack that has a number associated with it.
For the record, any attack made with a phist is a melee attack.

That would make it really simple but then you'd be able to parry backstab which I don't think makes any sense beacuse it is limited to the back and takes a count. You've lined this target up and they don't see you coming and you get this crtical hit on them and after the fact they parry it?
