I did not know the 'rule of 3'. The Sage got worse with knowing this rule since there is really no reason for a sage to give the +1 life with this rule.

I liked the 1 life, but will probably never use it for 1 life ever again.

Im confused.

What takes precedence. The rulebook or a posting on the forum?

I got my rulebook 2 events ago, so if the rule was changed 3 events ago then why does the rulebook still say 5 life?

I have a WONDERFUL idea.
Rule, you cannot be a witch hunter and a Man at arms.
Then they can both be what ever they were, sorry julie, worng thread. :)

From what I understood of "magic arrow" there is NO spoon... I mean arrow. Archer draws back and does his count, and an arrow appears. Hence he can go get a phy rep as needed, cause it is ONLY a beam of light or magic.
There for a resist magic it simply vanishes.

but that is how it was explained to me like whats it been 2 or 3 years ago now?

The physical representation all depends on the archer. Some like the idea of just shooting a bolt of energy like an arrow, others see it as the energies surrounding the arrow. Either way, a resist magic stops any magic attack

resist magic, arrows yes
witch hunter, stays both (off season problem)
rule of 3 takes precedent

and yes, the CPU and Rules went poof. Get over it.

Good day. I know I would just like to see what people though of these suggestions for Resists. This is what I have come up with from reading the guide and Forums.. please feel free to critique it at will.

I believe to keep the game simple and Resists a part of it I was thinking from what I have read that there could be just 3 types of Resists.

1. Resist Physical - Negates damage from weapon/natural weapon attacks except for those that add "Magic".
Example- 9 Vorpal can resist---5 crush can resist---3 magic vorpal no resist.

2. Resist Magic - Negates any effect that has "Magic" added, as well as channeling of course.

3. Resist Status - Negates any Status causing effect.. (May want to actually list the statuses for these.. to actually determiune what is or is not a status effect.. Pres for instance may not be covered by this Resist).

Also as for the Witch-Hunter Level 4 Resist Magic.. If the GM's believe it to be too powerful they can always increase the Life Cost to 2.

just some of my thoughts.. as I said earlier feel free to critique at will!

Thanks for your time.

Your ideas are nice, though while they seem simple are extremely complex. First they would require a rewrite of many disciplines. Second, the resist does not directly correlate to a particular call which will confuse new players. And third, well, I got nothing I just wanted to use the word third...

Witch Hunter is only suppose to be a privleadge disapline. The reason for this is to prevent the untouchable.

Just take 4th level witch hunter & 4th level man at arms
You have press
Resist sleep, fear, magic.
And + 5 to ones shield

Hummm, does any one see a problem with that
I do not have an issue with that since anyone that took this route would only have 35 points to spend on anything else at level 20, and could only have a basic path. It would make for a very defensive PC but one with almost no SPECIAL offense ability. Such a PC would make a great body guard, but have a tricky time writing a PC history taht didnt read like the Wisconsin state constitution and the charter for the dairy farmers assoc!

*throws Todd a scuby snack and trank darts him while he is distracted to prevent bloodshed and carnage....abd cause shootin Todd with a dart would be funny.

Witch Hunter Etc

Post by Nelkie »

If I wanted to play a defensive charcter under the current rules I would build as

Common, Cow man

Level 3 warrior - 60 points
Level 4 witch hunter - 90 points
Level 3 man at arms - 130 points
Level 1 swash buckler -20
level 1 druid - 30
Total character points - 330
Level 20

Special Attacks
taunt, disenchant,press
Defensive
resit fear, press, resist sleep, resist magic, defensive matrix
Other
Bleed to death 2 min, hold ground
Amor - Quality Heavy - 17
Harden skin - 2
Base Life - 13

Can anyone say empath/mage killer. You might only being doing 1 damge, but you can take a lot of damage before going down.
My Thoughts

Nelkie, that'd be level 2 warrior. Other than that yeah, that is a sick build. Gotta love the swashbuckler add in as it makes you the universal target. Great for anything swinging 1 while you use defensive matrix.

Yeah that is pretty sick, the only thing you could hurt them with is straight damage and they could take quite abit of that as well, that's not only an empath killa that's a roach, you'll have a really, really hard time getting rid of 'em.

I thought that the sages buff was in addition to the 1 each of arcane and alchemical?
