Hmm, in the Seige I thought vorpal damage was kicking some serious ass. I say this cuz there was a concentrated effort to kill our bowman Kelse.
Backstab damage was rarely used and so as a first lvl rogue I had to take up the position as one of 2 things. #1) Meat shield for healers and empaths, or #2) Retrival of downed comrades. I did manage to backstab a few folks, but you would be correct, it wasn't what won the seige by any means.

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

I think that the House of the Crescent Moon should take an internal poll on whether or not to let Arthos out of the guild hall for only a couple hours each day-under full escort. This could be the single most important issue in regards to peace and harmony in the Haven that the town has ever faced. :D

Hey

Hey now. I bring excitment and danger to our dull existance. With me you get to meet dragons, fight dwarf's, and have a guild of orc's pissed off at you. What else could you ever want. :D
And for my next trick.......

Corbyn locks you away in a little room where you can't harm yourself or anyone else.

I had a blast in the siege battle, it rocked. I thout the arrows and 30 magics and the 15 magics were really cool.....(Out of Game). But it was still a great time.
I am very happy that I got to show off to Nuk when a thirty magic came flying toward us,(I didn't want my sheild destroyed) so I spread my arms and took it full in the chest.......and yelled RESIST!!.. That was the highpoint for me at this event.

Why can I see that happening? Arthos, Robin, and Donovan sitting in a dark, locked room and moping to each other...

"You know, I don't think we would have formed this house if we knew they were going to lock us in the damn thing!"
One should rather die than be betrayed. There is no deceit in death. It delivers precisely what it has promised. Betrayal, though ... betrayal is the willful slaughter of hope.

I had some very interesting roleplaying this game. My character is begining to build character. The huge battle was fun. Large number of big bangs, but fun just the same. I didn't know the combination *or culmination* of my character's skills where so unique to the game. To say the least I definately felt much more useful. Key word.....strategy.

The Npcs did a excellent job. Next game should prove interesting with all the new PC/NPC plots forming.

Okay, I guess no caging Arthos the wolf-boy, but if he tries to nerve pinch a dragon again, I can't be held responsible... :2gunfire:

I agree with Aaron completely, no matter what happened in game (and whose heads I may or may not want on pikes) I have no problems with anyone OOG and had a great time.
Hell, I barely know anyone outside of the Muskegon group... not nearly enough time over the weekend to get to know people. I recognize though that Rahl is a complete asshole to most characters, thats the way he's meant to be. It is not however a reflection of how I feel about anyone there. In game is in game and thats it. Nothing more.
With that said, I look forward to more great RP-ing and completely cheesing off the rest of you. :D

If he does that again, you give me the order and I'll build him a nice cage.

First let me tell you that I am a long time Roleplayer but this is only my second LARP, and the first one only lasted a few sessions.

So I’ll start at the beginning (that’s a very good place to start). Directions to Final Haven need to be provided on the website. I’m serious. Rahl started a thread about this and got some help, but even with those directions and having someone in the car with me who had been at the June event, it was not the easiest thing to find. This is something that shouldn’t be too complicated and would be a great boon to newbies.

Next, Check-In. This was close to the most chaotic time I spent at the event. Even though I spent much time with the rule book before hand I did not have a character ready and had several questions. I had a hard time figuring out whom to direct my questions to and realize now that I didn’t do ever thing correctly (according to the rule book) but never had a GM catch that fact. I would suggest that maybe if the GMs have other preparations to make for the game that a few people who are more familiar with the system could volunteer to show up at 6 or a little before and focus solely on helping newbies and semi-newbies (1 or 2 events under their belt) until 15 minutes before the game starts. This is just a suggestion but I think it would make people feel more comfortable; also it might lull newbies into asking questions that get saved for during game otherwise.

So on to the good stuff. This was an amazing experience. I hoped that there would be a certain amount of immersion but I expected it only to come at night in the dark when you couldn’t see things as well. This was not true; it happened all of the time. I could be staring at a parking lot full of cars and it didn’t even start to bring me out of character. This was completely due to the great job of the GMs and the other people around me. I could easily switch between needing to ask an out of game question and being Lambic once again. I didn’t even realize how much I had fallen into the game until I was leaving and had to force myself back into reality. This was great.

I would like to point out Friday evening in the Inn as a good example of this. I actually had to remind myself that these people where not actually drinking alcohol. They did a great job, no matter what I thought about it in character ;). Also when I ventured up to Orcs’ Hall, I had a really good experience with mixing in game and out of game. Being new they really took pity on me and helped me out. There we also several nice touches to what they did around the cabin that really helped me get into character. They just did a great job of creating an environment. The last things I would like to point out was what a wonderful job the GMs and NPCs did with the scene around the fire building and the trial. They would not be pulled out of character, no matter what, around the fire and that really set the mood for the event. The trial on the other hand added a lot of serious intensity to the event. I know that there were other things that added seriousness but I missed a lot of them because I had to leave early.

Since I’ve already been so long winded I try and rap this up quickly. I wanted to say what an exhaustingly good time I had at the event and thank everyone that was there for making it what it was. Also let everyone know that I am excited about getting to stay for the whole event next time. Hopefully I will be able add something to the event so that others have as great an experience as I did.

I blogged about this.

Great now there's a pack...perhaps the craftsmen could collaborate on a town kennel, you know, just in case.

I think it's time we enacted some population control. Better get the neutering knife. They should calm somewhat, and they'll be happier. Though we will have to watch their diet as they'll get fat. Arthos may become a better diplomat when all is said and done.
