Weapon Entanglement

Post by Dereck_Sandoval »

I was wondering what the rules are on entagleing weapons like Flails and Nunchakus or flinbars. And are three sectioned staffs allowed?

Yeah they generate more force and are harder to control, ie you can ease off if you see your sword about to hit a non-legal target area, it's extremely hard to do that with whipping weapons.

Accidental neck entanglements are never good.

Now i know i can't entangle but i know that we can use flails does that mean other weapons like flails are useable i know i am quite skilled with nunchakus.
i am guessing that three sectioned staffs are a no.

No. Flails are not legal either. It has nothing to do with the skill of the user. The simple truth is that they are unsafe LARP melee weapons.

heh, I'd love to see useable foam nunchucks and or sectioned staves. Things would be nigh unwieldable due to the fact they couldn't have any piping...

First time they blocked anything they'd be broken. And yes, these weapons are very non-larp safe.

i just want to check how are these kinds of weapons unsafe? If it is accidental entaglement i could see the problem but, if it is the core it would be like hitting some one with a sword just sectioned.

One of the combat rules in the book is, ones swing with a weapon shall be no more than 90 degree's. Any weapon that needs to spin, fails, etc.. will break that rule.

Does the use of the 3 secitioned staff allow it to spin?

As well, you can't control the weapon when you hit. Basically, there's a lot of uncontrolled energy moving around.

So lets say I don't spin the weapon would that make them allowable?

if it is the core being pvc There are alternatives the throwing weapons wes made use hollow golf club grips as cores what about those? They are soft enough to throw they should be soft enough to swing around.

I would more or less like a GM to respond to that Question.
