Weapon Sizes
Is the listing in the latest rulebook still current as to maximum weapon sizes?
I ask because I'm looking into making a new sword for Claude, a German Zwiehander. These swords are typically 66+ inches from what I've found online so far. Just wanna make sure this will be allowed before I start dedicating too much time to it.

The weapon sizes listed in the book are correct. Your sword will easily fit in the two hander catagory. If you go with 66+ inches I would suggest using a 1/2" ratan core. I have had luck finding them in the gardening section of both Lowes and Home Depot. They come in 72" lengths.

Excellent! Now for the next question...
In case Rahl ever returns... I was thinking about making him a swashbuckling/assassin. Along those lines, I was wondering how easily katars would be to make and if anyone had any suggestions. With what I've researched it looks as though the vast majority of them would fit into the "short sword" category and should work great for dual wielding.
So, what's the official word?

yeah....no.
Are you thinking about the manner the core would have to be set up? Then add foam, sheet foam is the only safe choice. Now cover it without so much tape it becomes rigid. First set took me 2 weeks to do right. Cant just slap em together or they are just PVC knuckles looking for an injury to cause.

Thought about that, would definitely want to keep it to more of slashing style for safety purposes. As for thrusting though, just keep a lighter grip on the weapon. If ya thrust too hard ya knock it out of your own hand.
Trust me, I've done it before... it sucks. Disarming yourself is a hell of a way to learn to check your swings.
