*Zander stops in the middle of an apparent sentence a hundred feet away. At the appearance of the newcomer and hearing that he has something to add, Zander reapproaches the group, with Annika following meekly behind him. Zander says to Roland:*

"Good Sir, my name is Zander. I am Gaul and leader of these lands and while you are unfamiliar to me, I can only assume by your knowledge of this Pentaguishine, the Dark Elf witch, and Donovan that you are one of the Havenites. As such, I will inform and/or remind you that Donovan is under my protection while he is on these lands... as are you."

"I do not wish to have Frostfell dragged into this civil unrest, so I will ask kindly that you postpone any of your actions that you are contemplating against Donovan until outside of my borders. However, as to your hunt for Pentaguishine, you will have my ear for any information for any information you wish to provide about him and I will strongly consider any aide you request to hunt him. I would have you know that my military has already been informed of this situation and that a being of his dark heart may be in his midst. If you wish to speak to me any further, have one of my guards contact me."

*At that, Zander turns around, grabs Annika's arm and guides her back to their previous spot to finish their conversation.*

*Looks around as voices are raised and words are exchanged*

*As Donovan holds the Empty skull up to him he merely glances at it, but his true gaze is into Donovan's eyes*

I remember that look *comes quietly out of his mouth*

*As Donovan finishes his speech and proceeds South, Ian picks up his sword and shield, a small pack and proceeds after him*

*When Roland speaks he gives a quick look back and those that see his face see a look of pity on it*

*he follows Donovan 10 paces behind him, no words said*

After the stick is removed from his mouth McEwan, jaws clenched, runs his hand over the head of his axe, then pulls the medallion from his neck and drops it at Corbyn's feet. Turning to walk away he pauses to listen to Donovan. After the speach ends McEwan continues away, visably shacking with rage.

*to zander*

My name is Roland Nightshade, formerly known as Roland Campbell. I had no intentions of harming Donovan, his importence is minor now. He would be no challenge to me. However, as you said I am a havenite and therefore you have no say in what transpires between myself and Donovan. I have even heard that the one you chose to be elevated to "Brother" stole the head of somone you wished excuted. So already your judgement of character is in question. But I have no quarrel with you. Please leave me too the ones I do have

*Kidwynn carefully watch McEwan when he goes near Corbyn. After she leaves she turns to Kels before heading over to where Vir-Drake is to talk to him.*

*Donovan stops and looks suprised to see Roland there, but has no reaction to his words.*

"Good morning Roland. A pleasure to see you. Where have you been? We have often had need of our Constable in your absence.

Oh, and, you might want to know, I haven't been the House head for quite some time now. Nor do I lead anything but the Phoenix Guard, and keeping order over anything is a task no one in Haven has been able to accomplish. Certainly not I, and certainly not you.

Drunk with power? Tiny mind? Disgrace? It seems sad that a man of your nobility would be reduced to name-calling at such a time, when your superior leadership could have united us. Where were you again?

No, Roland. I know exactly what it is to fight Pentag. I know precisely what he is capable of, and I know where my limits lie. For such reasons I made the decisions I made and allowed those better qualified to take the lead in bringing Pentag to justice. I will say nothing more of it, since to do so may endanger them, but I have placed my fate, and hers, in the hands of someone more qualified.

I am sorry you think so little of me, Roland Campbell. But I still will do whatever it takes to defend these people. As will you, I am sure, and understand that neither of us are alone.

you could use a bit of name calling, and now by your own admision you are not the leater of Haven, and yet you still meet out "justice" as if it were your right. At least my spine is stiff enough to say what needs to be said. I do judge people in the absence of council. Also as far as keeping the peace I have done more in a single night than you and yours have done in you time here.

And as far as "knowing" what it is to fight pentag, you must be an oracle, since you have not seen him in a year, set foot on his trail, or raised a sword to any but the neck of a dead dark elf, who just happened to be the only one who had any idea of what could come.

*Donovan smiles a wry smile*

"I'm so glad your vastly superior abilities were used in defense of the Haven. I'm sure that all we have done pales in comparison to your power and majesty. I'm sure that our victories at the keep and against Silverthorn were aided by your mere memory. I also judge people in the absence of council, and though you don't want to hear it, I still like you. You do what is needed to protect those you care about. As do I. I normally avoid the bully-boy bluster and bravado, but to each their own."

"Oh, and one more thing. About my decision with in regards to Nuk, you may disagree with my actions, but..."

*Donovan leans in and says something to Roland in a whisper.*

*Neshca nods to Roland, and walks toward the south with McEwan insight. Calling out for Jason to come help McEwan.*

so he is going by barappas these days. You know not the evil with which you traffic these days. There is a reason my name is now nightshade.

And as far as your victories against "silverthorn" and at the keep, I'm sure they were amazing. My memory served well, because all I heard about those battles was that people wished I was there. I might have tried to fight them as you do, with longwinded speaches that would lul them to sleep so I might chop the heads from thier defensles bodies. Take up your walking stick again, and wander the battle field healing, at least you had a use then.

Zander states to Roland in a very calm but commanding tone:

"Nightshade is it, how interesting. Well I will remind you that what transpires between you and Donovan DOES fall under my rule when it happens in MY lands, just as it would fall under your fathers rule if I were to take actions against a Frostfellian in his kingdom.

I simply wanted to see that I had no need to expend time on issues relaterd to your actions against Donovan when so much need tending now in Frostfell.

I will also ignore your rude demeanor as a favor to your father since I know you will keep your temper even in the future when addressing me. I would hate to have to deliver news of your execution to his since I only met him Saturday evening, however if you ever impune my judgement again, that will be reconsidered.

As for the dark elf witch, I admit I would have killed her for what she was and will not apologize to anyone for that, let alone you. I will state again and for the last however, as a Havenite she would not have been harmed while here if she had kept her dark arts in check. I suggest you remember that."

Zander turns to Donovan and askes in an unhappy tone:

" Is it true you are not authorised among the havenites to despense such justice as the witchs death?"

*When Roland mentions the walking stick, Donovan's eyes soften for an instant.*

"I can see your method is unchanging. Waltz in after all the work has been done, tell everyone how you could have done it so much better, and make vague references to great power whenever someone dares to threaten your fantasies of manhood. Disappear again, little prince. We're better off without you."

*In response to Zander*

"My friend, there is no authority among the Havenites. Corbyn is the House Lord, but I am free to make my own decisions unless he specifically requests otherwise, and since the Phoenix Guard is part of the House by choice, no one stands truly above another. "
