*Donovan listens to Curufin with no change in his expression. His voice is equally devoid of emotion.*
"I will answer your inquires as you asked them. I took her head for the same reason I fleeced the flesh from the skull: to prevent Pentag from ressurecting her and using her against us. I showed it to everyone, but you'll recall I offered to speak with you privately first. I wished to spare you the sight, and I took your refusal to be a statement of strength. I presumed you were saying that you had the ability to see whatever I had to show you without detriment. Obviously, I was mistaken."
"As for her request to have you present, I refused it outright. When a person with unknown magical capabilities - and a recent association with the world's most dangerous murderer - wanders into a land that despises both her race and ability, and while under questioning confesses to reincarnating said murderer, the last thing I am going to do is honor her request to bring one of my own men, a man whose feelings for her have conflicted with his duty in the past, into her presence."
"Though her presence in these lands nearly undid all of the good that we bled to create here, Zander did not execute her on sight. She asked for me, and out of respect he allowed a Dark Elf mage into his keep to speak with me. Though Barappis and his friends seemingly had a vested interest in thwarting whatever plans Pentag might have, they allowed another to make the decisions regarding Onyksi."
"That person offered her the mercy of sleep before her death. That person had defended her, suspended alliances on her behalf, brought her back from the brink of oblivion, and even forgiven her for destroying two of his closest friends. The name of the man who took her head is Donovan Erios Thynedar, Preceptor of the Phoenix Knights. I beleive you know where to find him."
"She had no possessions with her at the time of her death, though there was some talk of having Drake lead us to their campsite. You are welcome to her possessions if you can find them, but I suspect that we won't see them until we see Pentag once again. I have not seen Gideon since last night. If I should come across him, I'll let you know."
"I will answer any other questions, if you like."
*Donovan waits for a response.*

One should rather die than be betrayed. There is no deceit in death. It delivers precisely what it has promised. Betrayal, though ... betrayal is the willful slaughter of hope.
*Corbyn silently and carefully studies Donovan, assessing his statements in a familiar way. When he speaks, his voice is heavy with concern.*
Donovan, thank you for your honesty and candor. I wish you had exercised more patience and included others as you proceeded, but I believe your actions were dictated by your desire for the safety of all of us from Haven, and for the people of Frostfell.
Curufin, I can only imagine your grief...I hope more than anything that we can somehow put this behind us. Otherwise, Pentag will have succeeded in damaging the Phoenix more than any of the armies you have faced and defeated together. Perhaps Sir Claude may serve as an appropriate mediator as his rank is near to both of yours.

*After the initial exchange between Donovan and Curufin, Kidwynn looks over to Kels as Claude leave. A look on her face of grave concern comes across as she look at him for some sort of assurance everything will be alright.*
Dead pirate betrayed by Corbyn...ah well least I made him do his own dirty work when he killed me.

*Curufin's eyes narrow, his voice like ice*
"Damn you. You were wrong for what you did. You hated Her and you took this chance to get rid of Her. It must have been easy for you to come to your decision with only three others with you, all of whom hated Her even more than you could. She was a Dark Elf and a Mage, the two things that these Frostfellers hate more than anything else. How long did it take them to convince you to take Her life? 5 minutes? 10? I can understand why you wouldn't want me there. Because I would have put a stop to it. But, answer me this O' Great One, why in the Hell wouldn't you ask for Corbyn to confirm or deny anything that She might have said? Annika, Sanna, and Zander hated Her and probably twisted whatever She said into lies. Corbyn should have been there and You know it! She has helped us in the past.....we owed Her that.....I owed Her that. But you wouldn't listen...."
*Curufin looks down at the ground and speaks softer*
"The last memory I have of Onyksi was when She shared my bed, but when I woke, She was gone..... Her last request was to see me one last time and say goodbye. But you denied that request, the request of the woman I loved...... Damn you for that......Damn you to hell....."

Lost my train of thought.....
*Annika, who was standing off to the side with her guards, looks up from her discussion with them. At Curufin's outburst, her attention is clearly piqued, however, she remains respectfully silent during the interaction between the two and her guards stand behind her.*
*At Curufin's words about Annika's part, she purses her lips but says nothing and looks between Donovan and Corbyn for their instructions on action.*

Curufin, Donovan, Claude, I would have us address this matter before we depart for home. We will continue this conversation in private. Come, we will enter the outpost dwelling recently occupied by the Phoenix and settle this...one way or another.
*Calling over his shoulder as he leads the four of them up the hill*
Arthos, Robin, and Annika, continue preparations for our journey. I want everyone ready by the time we return.

McEwan drops his pack (it rolls behind a bush without anyone noticing) and watches the melladrama unfold. After a moment he finds a conveniant tree to lean on and clears his thoat
"Oh, I have missed somethin'. I dinna even know Nuk were here. And ya be a'sayin' that Donovan here put paid to the lass."
"Well I be gettin' a mighty yellin' out fer this, but..."
Turns to the Phenix Guildmembers
" So I'm a'thinkin' you'll be aboot arrestin' Ol' Donovan here then?"
" Iffin' I be rememberin' a'right part o' those laws we've wasted so mutch time a'yellin' aboot thard be no killin' til after a trial. Iffin' thar be no trial that would be a'makin' Donovan here a murderer."
"Now I know what ya be a'thinkin'. We inna in Haven. well ta that I be a'sayin' that ya either be a'livein' by tha laws, or ya no be a'livin' by that laws, but iffin' ya be a'sayin' the laws be only be in Haven, well..."
"...Then I be a'sayin' ta Curufin, iffin' ya be a'sayin' that Donovan here murdered Nuk, thar no be a need fer a trial, CHALLANGE DONOVAN NOW."
After he's done McEwan shrugs and patently waits for Robin to start yelling at him.

Ignorance can be fixed...stupid you're stuck with
*Annika watches the scene and when McEwan begins speaking it becomes evident that Annika wishes to speak, but chooses not to. She shifts uncomfortably in her space and after a moment orders all of her troops away. Annika moves over to a tree and looks down trying to respect the privacy of the Havenites.*
*At McEwan's words, Corbyn stiffens and turns. He locks eyes with Robin and speaks slowly.*
Captain Steel, will this be indicative of how your orders will be obeyed? I will be interested to see the results of the 'ship discipline' I have heard so much about upon my return.
*He then wheels about and continues walking with Curufin up the hill, ignoring any further comment.*

**As Lambic hurries to catch up with Corbyn before he enters the Outpost, he calls over his shoulder
McEwan, you are not helping!
**As Lambic catches up to Corbyn.**
Lord Corbyn, I must impress on you that I am convinced that this is part of Pentaguishine's plan. He wants to split the Phoenix and more specifically he wants to drive a wedge between Donovan and Curufin, who has been his right hand. I'm sure you grasp the immensity of this point.
I also beg you to forgive my outburst but I felt that this needed to be said.

*As Corbyn starts to walk away, Neshca step right in front of him without a second thought. His face is not happy his eye are like cold steel over a blustering blaze. He place a hand frimly on Corbyn sword arm shoulder. He does not have a weapon in hand nor a shield. He just mutter to Corbyn a few things. *
"You my not like the fact he spoke his mind. But is he wrong in his words?
Is it wrong for Curffin to wish the death of the one that took her life? I am not saying I was a friend of the Dark one. But I held no ill will toward her either.
And yet I do not know all the fact's to the reason she was taken either. So does that change my mind on where things stand right now! No not one bloody things has changed. An if something is to happen to him. Than that is fine I'll do what is needed. But you wish for ships justice, I'll show you ship justice. But I hope that you can understand that. So let me show you ship justice. I hope you like it. For we shall need a healer for this one."
*Neshca looks around for a healer, once he finds Jason or someone else that can heal. He waves them over to him. He release Corbyn shoulder, and grabs the eating knife off Corbyn side. He looks pissed and sad all at the same time. He locks eye to eye with McEwan.*

And what is he greatly thought , he nobly dared.
