Why, oh why would someone choose the swap out? I can only think that maybe you'd be getting martial training for a 3rd time and there'd be no additional benefits?Level 2: Martial Training – Passive skill
All characters may use a small shield with no skill while wielding a weapon. All characters may use a medium shield on one arm to block incoming blows, but unless the character possesses the 'Martial Training' skill they cannot perform any action that produces any effect with greater than 0 (zero) damage while wielding that shield. A character must have the Martial Training Skill twice in order to utilize a large shield in this manner. If using a shield, the character may not hold a weapon in the same hand as the hand/arm that has the shield. If you have this skill and are wielding either no shield or a small shield, you gain +2 Combat Reflexes. If you have martial training twice, when wielding a small or no shield, you gain +4 Combat Reflexes or +2 Combat Reflexes when wielding a medium shield.
Level 2 Swap Out: Combat Reflexes – Passive skill
Guardians know how to take blows and avoid them, thus making them tougher to defeat in battle. A Guardian receives 2 points of Combat Reflexes from this skill (See Page 100).
We may want to look into a new swap out for the off-season.
