Better late than never Varys...

I will venture ahead of the group with Jason in case we come to something of an unknown. That way I can scout the area quietly and report back to the party with what obsticles lie ahead.

*a thin man in dark grey tight fitting clothes walks down the path, moving twords the Inn. (those who have met him would recognise him as 'Dusk'*

"Hello all, have you seen Atrum around?" *eyeing the larger members of the group warrily*

Varys stares at Dusk as he approaches somewhat in surprise and with more than a little suspicion, his hand unconsciously flexing around the hilt of his short sword in its scabbard across his back…

“Dusk”, he says warily, “it has been some time since we traveled with that gal who wanted to go find some undead. You and her disappeared, I was driven off with an irrational fear. You were both gone when I got back there. I have heard rumors that people have seen you since then, but you were never around when I was looking for you, but now here you are. I haven’t seen Atrum, he is probably back at the Inn. However, if you have a few minutes (said more in a tone that implies he’d better have those minutes right now), I would like to hear from you what you remember happening that night. You, the slayer and I were following the larger group. We were talking about her past and then I want to know what do you remember happening? You’ll have to excuse my suspicious nature, but I guess I would like to hear from you what happened after that. What do you remember, what did you see?”

Agreed. *As I nod to Varys*

I too was among that party venturing with the undead hunter. Speak man, with the rumors that have been floating around the inn and the village in regards to you, it would be advisable that you tell us what you know before someone else takes a more serious action.

*While saying this, Fy'Rin starts moving around behind Dusk and signals to Ollumm and McEwen to do the same to try and cut off a retreat.*

Varys consciously pulls his hand away from his sword and puts both hands in the air in a non-threatening gesture.

“It is true that there have been some rumors about you, Dusk. I am not apt to believe them as you are standing here in front of us in *broad daylight*, but I do want to know what happened that night. Please shed some light on the subject, if you please.”

*Ollumm wheels to the side of Dusk. Keeping his shieldless arm wrapped with is back pack. Than places his sword arm over his head to itch his main. (grippig his hand and half bastard in one hand. Than flicks the leather lose so it can be pulled if needed.) Watching Dusk with every step of the way.*

"Why Dusk I have to agree with Var on hearing rumors of you as of late. I an I would also agree with him about where have you been? Sence I went looking for your corpse for half a night in that hellish place. So can you enlighting us on those fated events of that night?

*Ollumm grunts and taps his right hoof as if he has a stone in it. *

"Well To tell you the truth I think left with the other a few days back. So I think Dusk is kind of out of luck. What says you McEwan? Or Jason have you seen Master Atrum anywhere in the last few days?"

*Ollumm just awaits for a sign or Dusk to do something really dumb*

*Fy'Rin waits egerly for Dusk's response*

*While he is standing in a defensive posture he is not making any movements that would be interpeted as an act of agression.*

I too put no beliefe in the rumors that have been circling Haven in regards to him. However, considering how my last adventure ended when he was traveling with us, I'm willing to err on the side of caution.

(OOG; gee whiz guy's, give me a chance to post. :D )

*Dusk looks increasingly uncomfortable as the group surounds him. He circles away trying to avoid being enclosed accidentily backing up till he brushes against someone who has gotten behind him. Realizing he is completely surrounded he seems to shrink in upon himself*

"Gentlemen, and Lady, please.. *hands up submissivly* I of course will tell you what I know. Theres no reason for this to come to a bad end. I am completely unarmed, I wouldnt know what to do with a weapon if I had one. As I told you all before I am merely a business man looking for oportunity. A merchant be trade, a coward by nature."
*forces a week laugh*
*to Varys* "We were all walking on the path. The other group got too far ahead of us. You thought you heard something, I thought I saw something, the three of us where watching the woods when something attacked us from behind I suppose because you began running, instinctivly (being a coward) I began running as well. Something hit me from behind and I fell asleep. When I awoke there was no one around. I was not about to go wandering around in the woods at night alone. And I dont have the knowledge of how to track so I made my way back to town. I immediatly found Atrum and told him he should marshall a search party to find everyone. *stutters* I.. I'm sorry I didnt help look for you all.. But.. *almost a wisper* I was scared."

"I know you'll ask anyway so I'll tell you of the nature of my freindship with Atrum. His man Leeland healed me when I fled from the Warlord who attacked nearly a year ago. I came through here looking for someone to teach my trade. That of Organization and Facilitation. He intern offered me a job as 'bar tender'. We have spoken many times since, but as yet neither has accepted the others offer."
"The Girl? The Hunter? Is she ok? I thought perhaps she might wish me to teach her. Probly not since I deserted her.' *sigh*

*Varys thinks for a moment while scrutinizing Dusk and digesting what he has said and starts speaking slowly…*

“I have spoken with the Hunter and she vouches for you. Listening to you, I am inclined to believe your story. It agrees with what I remember. I will speak to Atrum, and if he agrees with your story, you’ll be fine in my book. I have not met Leeland, but have heard of him. Again, you’ll have to excuse my suspicious nature, but after being first officer on a ship for 10 years, you start to never trust what anyone tells you without verifying it for yourself.

“I am actually interested in talking to you about this Organization and Facilitation trade you’re talking about. Unfortunately, at this time, we are heading out to do some scouting and mapping of the surrounding areas, as well as a quick trip to Woodhold. If you wish to speak to me about this trade, you are welcome to join us. If not, I’ll look for you when we get back. As I said earlier, I believe Atrum is in the Inn.”

*Fy'Rin relaxes and makes his way to Varys's side. Having no reason not to believe Dusk's story*

It was nothing personal you understand. With the way that adventure unfolded I admitedly had my doubts. With all the strange occurances that have been going on in Haven as of late one has to keep his guard up.

(OOG; Fy'Rin's not the most patient of people. )
