Heidi, I skimmed, but I wanted to correct you.
The elves are NOT suppose to be good incarnate. That is the posision that most fantasy games take, but it is not the position we took when we first created the world of CARPS and is especially not true in FH.
Historically people know little of the elves as they have hung out in their homland for most of human history. That there speaks to their immortality mindset.
The elves have been waiting since the 1st cataclysm to launch the attack you see going on today.
To get what I think is the best elvish story that I have read you need to talk to Christan (how ever her name is spelled) and ask to read the story about the elves who had a human child and what became of them. It sums up the elven position perfectly.
Oh and we as GM's dont tell a person how to RP. You can RP an elf how ever you want, but if you play the goody goody elves then you will come into conflict with the NPC elves as is natural.

Okay, I don't mean to sound snippy or anything, but if that is true, can you explain why this is in the rule book?GM_Chris wrote: Oh and we as GM's dont tell a person how to RP. rulebook page 12 wrote:
All the races in Phanterra are highly varied, with their own distinct personalities. To play a non-Human race you must act the part. If you feel you are unable to role-play correctly please do not play the race. Extremely bad role-playing of a race will cause your character to morph into a Human at the discretion of the Game’s Marshals (GMs), or referees. Note, that even though the Humans are the most varied, they too have a few distinctive quirks. These quirks can be overcome by a character history. To overcome a non-Human quirk you need the permission of a
head marshal.

Bwahaha! That's what you get for skimming! I never disagreed with you in that post.GM_Chris wrote:Heidi, I skimmed, but I wanted to correct you.

I'm quite happy with your elves the way that they are. Giddy with joy, even.
That's in the rulebook to allow us the ability to shut someone down if we see fit, and we can even point to a rule in the book. It was also intended to stop someone to choose a race simply because of the boon when they had no intention of ever costuming the race or even trying to roleplay being of another race.
That said, we never shut Reid down

I wouldn't do that if I were you. If my experiment with Bacon Armor is any indicator of how things will go, you'll be chased till you're exhausted and then mauled till you're left naked and alone.Ovak Stonecrusher wrote:The donuts were kind of ingenious. Costuming and breakfast all rolled into one. Ever since I've seen you do that, I've been working on an omelet cloak...
So very, very alone...

I really can't imagine any world where all the members of a race or society can fit a blanket stereotype and still be interesting.
I mean, c'mon....I don't fling poo, do I
But seriously, if you can travel instantaneously with portals, use a magic rod to go back in time, fling magical energy, revive the dead, and fight shadow deamons.....I think you see where I'm going with this.

CJ you are not imposing to me, but Rhul on the other hand makes me hesitate. And it's simply because of the fact that I've seen all the Planet of the Apes movies and still have years of ingrained fear from a nuclear holocaust.Rhul wrote:I really can't imagine any world where all the members of a race or society can fit a blanket stereotype and still be interesting.

Talking apes brings back that inner terror.
