armor
now i know alot of people hate the little questions but this is armor...
-arms count as one location so does that mean that if you have one joint covered on one arm it counts as full arms? because there counted together, same question for legs

Well, logically only having armor on one arm is technically only half of the actual armor. With the current rules, there is no catagory for 'half armor'. Which, by the way, is a good thing.
Full armor is armor. Pieces of a full suit of armor are a hindrance. But alas, that may be to realistic for a fantasy larp.
I know the "gladiator defense' will arise, so let me squash that right now. The armor that gladiators wore was for show. Granted, it was real armor, but having one bracer on your left arm and a bronze gorget hardly helps when a lion is mauling your face off.
That being said, I would say no.
But, on the same note, who am I?

i had no ideas on what armor could acomplish this, i was just looking over the armor rules and it said cover a joint, this means if you have a pauldron, that covers your shoulder, that counts as a joint for chest and arm, that means with one piece of armor you just got full arms and chest, for expence purposes this is great, allows people to buy a nice piece of armor and the ability to were armor.

no but they cover a joint, and chest joint is neck, shoulders, or thy, thats why if you were a chain shirt, that is a t-shirt, but covers your thy, you have full armor coverage!
so by wearing two pauldrons you have full chest and arm coverage, thats also why even thick leather boots can count as full legs, they cover a joint

I can't imagine that the GM's intended to give full chest and arm coverage for just wearing pauldrons, nor do I think tall boots count as full legs. Perhaps the text in the rulebook is unclear about this?
Can we get a ruling on this, please?

Here are the curent armor rules. I believe it answers the question.
Armor Location Phys-reps
In order to receive free upkeep for the torso area at least 50% or more of the front and back of the torso must be covered by armor. To receive free upkeep for the legs or arms, they must be covered by a piece of armor that crosses a joint such as the shoulder, elbow, or knee OR cover at least 50% of the front and back of BOTH limbs.
Armor that does not meet the full criteria listed above will be considered half armor in terms of the torso and quarter armor in terms of a leg or an arm. If an individual can get enough fractions to count as a whole piece then they will receive the free upkeep for 1 location. For example, 2 steel bracers and 2 steel shin plates would constitute 4 quarters granting the wearer 1 location of heavy Armor. If the armor types do not match, the armor will provide points based on the judging GM or Marshal's discretion.

Yeah but that only deals with free upkeep.
Truthfully reading the entire section it's up to a GM or marshall to tell you what you get as far as points, I thought there was a change last season to fix this so that people wouldn't assume things like pauldrons give you full chest and arms?
Perhaps there needs to be a line added that says that the coverage rules apply to the points that will be given as well as the free upkeep. Because as it reads now you can say you are wearing heavy chest and arms and be wearing a sweatshirt and get points and not the free upkeep.

I see your point, but to get armor points period, you need something that looks in period and is covering the area you are looking for protection in.
Aka, if you want armor points for arms, you need something on both arms. No physreps, no armor points. 1 shoulder with upper arm covered would get you 1 arm, 50% of total armor points for arms and no upkeep benifit.
I have had many dicussions with the GM's on armor and if you are looking for full armor points for arms and chest just for wearing a pauldron you will not get it. You might get patrial armor points, not full.
You will not know until you show up at Check in and get judged by the GM's and armor points and free upkeep will be issued at that time.
And if the armor is not in period, you will get nothing for the armor.

Cool, thats the way I think it should be but I thought that there might have been a change because you might go out and spend money expecting one thing and not get it. And I thought there was an effort to get away from subjective judgements.

wait wait wait, so there no writen rule on armor points, just the upkeep one, because thats what i was basing it off of, it said cover a joint, people viewed this as hard, until i made this post saying how easy it was, i thought the armor coverage was, cover 50% of a limb, OR, cover a joint, i think joints are actually really easy, but if its like joints AND 50% coverage,..i dont have that kind of money, why is it so hard to have armor?????.......
also my post before, you could get full legs and arms, but chest isnt joint, its coverage

Basicly, you can't just have 1 shoulder covered to get full armor points for arms. You would need both shoulders and some upper arm to get armor points for arms.
You would have to have some upper or lower leg armor that cross's the knee to get legs.
Note: you will get some armor points for armor that you wear, but the more coverage you have, the more armor points you will get. And if your coverage is good, than you will get free upkeep.
If you have both shoulders covered with some upper arm coverage, than I would give you full armor points but not upkeep bonus.
Does this make sense?
