"I suggest before making plans to retake Haven, we work first to foil Sil'van'dar's efforts to conquor Far Reach and Caldonia. They have all ready made their first move, if the elves we faced earlier were indeed of Sil'van'dar. How they reached this place we do not yet know, and that must be corrected swiftly."

"Also Sil'van'dar has apparently spread their influence far and wide on the wings of war. They claim many territories now under their control. They have resources and magics well beyond our measure. Any direct challenge has little or no hope given our current resources. A great many allies would need to be found and organized."

"However, perhaps direct challenge is not the best way to put an end to Sil'van'dar's expansionistic polocies. This sudden change in Sil'van'dar's doctrine is difficult to except from a race as wise, patient, and long-lived as the Elves. Something dire may have occured within the Elven Court. Perhaps this dire thing may be undone."

"Tell me this, survivors of Haven. Had the Red Tear been encountered there prior to the arrival of the Elves? I have heard no tales of them here in Far Reach - not until the Elves, also, arrived."

"If the Red Tear has infiltrated the Elven Court and is now guiding the actions of Sil'van'dar, then they must be rooted out, their treachery exposed, and their influence eliminated."

*A loud crash can be heard from behind the bar. A few second later Korrigan emerges looking directly at Dallid.*

"Son-of-a-bitch! Dallid, do you really think the Red Tear could have infiltrated the Elven Court? That's an entire world of suck. Blue hell... it lines up though."

*Darkclaw turns to Dallid*

Your logic makes scary sense. If the red tear is behind this, we are in more trouble than we even could have known.

I heard there are some red tear memebers in the area. We need to capture them and ask them some questions. Does any one have any ideas where we can start looking for them?

*Listens to the conversation as if trying to remember something.*

Humm...Uncle, please correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the head of the Guild of Mages back in the old days an elf named...Rafi...no...Rufis...no...umm....Rafisto! That's it Rafisto.

Is it possible he could have worked for the Red Tear and maybe brought all that corruption and all back to the homeland? Well going with a theory already being presented.

Isn't it also possible that when the magic became one that elves became twisted because they are so attuned to the magical flow? You know sort of like a sensory overload and that the one magic just flat out corrupted them.

*Looks the the asssmbled people*

Don't think the cell memebers will advertise "Oh hey I'm with the Red Tear". Some yes may make it obvious but some might have tattoos annoucing their affiliation hidden on their body.

As for ideas on where to look? Well they are probably among us spying. The only other thing is look for a well unnatureal decaying of the land and that might be a home base.

If they are smart, they'll be in groups with a group leader so even if we wipe out one there will be others.

“The Red Tear dictating Elven policy is a possibility, though a possibility contemplated only because Red Tear sightings have corresponded with Elven ones. We require prisoners to interrogate, and I think we will have plenty of opportunities to acquire them.”

“The Red Tear has attacked us recently, though their efforts thus far fortunately seem thwarted. They will attack again and again until their goals are met. Direct confrontation is rarely their method. They will seek to put spells in place that caused delayed damage – spells that produce an effect long after they have vacated the area.”

“We must be vigilant for rituals in progress, and move swiftly and decisively once they are discovered.”

“Indeed, Aurora, the Cataclysm, itself, may be the dire thing that has caused this drastic change in the Elves. While many of us have encountered many Elves who appear little different than before the Cataclysm, a subtle change is all that is typically required to have far reaching effects. Then again, the Elves may simply have seen the Cataclysm and those responsible for it, and determined the younger races are incapable of holding the reins of their own destinies.”

“Regardless of what has caused Sil’van’dar to take up weapons, I must believe there are a great many dissenters among their number. Sil’van’dar Elves who are saddened and appalled by what their leaders have done to their people and the world at large. Finding such dissenters would surely yield crucial information on the nature of this sudden Elven hostility.”

"If I was holding all the cards, I would build gates using scouting teams. I would deploy a few of these gates all over the place and use them to send my troops where ever they needed to be

What we need to do is find one of these gates and hold it. Someone will come though it and provide us all the information we need. "

Knowing where atleast some of the gates around Haven are is not a problem. It's finding the gates closer to here that is going to be tricky. Part of the problem is that they seem to be able to find gates that are extremely old and inactive. Gabrial may be our best hope at finding those gates, I assume that the crystal would still put out some sort of resonance, even while the gate is dormant.

As far as looking around Haven, that is being taken care of.*Glances at Aurora and Darkclaw* I'd rather not say by whom, if the elves do have a spy amongst us, and they would be fools not to atleast try, they don't need more information about it than they can glean from other sources. Trust that it will be done though.

The elves have been a threat to Haven for quite a few cycles now. They have been on the outskirts of Haven for a long time now. The Red Tear activity as far as I know only started up about a cycle and a half ago. Not that I'm dismissing the possiblity of a connection, only letting people know that the elves were encamped around us long before there was Red Tear activity.

On a completely unrelated note Abbadon, *smile* I'd like to speak with you in private after we're done here.

This is good news. Thank you all.

Now, what ideas do people have on fortifing far Reach against an elven attack?
Traps would not be a wise idea at this time becasue of all the inocents around here. I would not want a child wandering into a trap and setting it off. Has anyone scouted the area? Is there an area where we could funnel any incoming attackers into a small confinded area? Is there any good outposs that could be setup for an advanced warning system? Besdies the caldonians and the dwarves, who else is in the area that can be made allias in this strugle? What other ideas do people have for the defense of this area?
This is just talk and to get ideas out there. To share and learn to trust each other.

"The keep is fortified in a with constant fall backs. We have constucted the gates to provide a kill zone in front of the gate. We are working to improve the efficiency of this kill zone. Heavy catpults will be mounted from the towers.

There is more than enough room for all of Far reach inside our walls. "

*Aurora looks at Abaddon*

If we have to go there, let's just use it as a fall back point. I'm sorry Mr. Abaddon the quarters would be to close for some of us.

“Determining the means and direction by which the Elves may arrive will in turn determine how our defenses are best set. There is not much we can effectively do until this is known. Scouts may find gates or passages of approach to Far Reach. Prisoners may also yield this information. Sages set to examining the nature of the recent Elven incursion may also discover crucial facts.”

As Mohdri sits, listening the conversation, he finally decides to speak up...

"The Sil'Van'Dar are a long way from here. They will not be comming any time soon, if even in the lifetime of the common Caledonian. You forget. Haven is what they want, not Far Reach. There is NO proof that the Elves we encountered have anything to do with the Sil'Van'dari plans, in fact, my sagely advise it that they were just a solitary group of Elves working for their own purposes, nothing more.

And as far as the Red Tear are concerned, I wouldn't be to hasty with that either. The sigils used in the summoning spells could have been faked to make it look like the Red Tear. There is proof that there is a group of vampires working in this area. They target our undead slayers, we go after someone else.

As for fortifying these lands, with all the refugees in the area, hiding places for any sort of bad guys abound. In fact the one recent late night summoning WAS indeed tracked back to several of the refugee camps, making it nearly imposible to find them. I think the keep is a good last resort, but may I remind those of Haven what happened there. (Looking at Abaddon) Now I don't suspect those at the keep of the same duplicity as Corbyn, (To all) I do think all in one place is a bad idea.

I really think more time and information is need to really determine a course of action. What allies do we have, what resources can we count on to stockpile, who is going to make problems for us amongst our own here? All these question need to have a least some answer for before we can begin looking to Haven and the Elves.

As for the Elven motives for doing what they are doing....

they have been waiting more than a thousand years to do this. Yes, the cataclysm is the reason for why they are doing this. They are the ones responsible for the Breaking of Magic in the first place. They wanted to defeat the ancient enemy so they could take their "rightful place" ruling Phantara. The Elves knew this was comming. They nearly sucked Silverthorn dry of food, building materials, raw ore, cloth and anything else they could get. They were READY for this, and wanted it. And with the one magic back, they see this as their opportunity to reclaim their former glory. It requires no conspiracy on the part of the Red Tear to assign motives to what the Elves want... everything. And they have the time and patience to do it.

So must we have a little patience. The Elves greatest weakness is their slowness to act. They are not looking further right now. They will dig in and fortify, which give us time to do the same.

As I've said before, the time to act is not now. But soon.

If everyone feels differently, then, I'll help as much as I can. But I urge everyone to be patient. Don't find conspiracies for which there is no proof.

*Aurora looks at Mohdri and sighs*

You are right Uncle, we should gain information, be patient and then come up with a formal plan.

My appologies for tying in the Red Tear with the elves and all based on past knowledge I read about. Just the timing of their appearance is just weird. It could be a collective trying to bring back the Tear or something, but we should keep an eye out for it.

I totaly agree Mohdri and see your points. Your logic as usual is sound. Information must be collected and stockpiling must occur. But I guess the main question is, who is doing these activities? Will we do this a the town of Far Reach or as the group at the Keep and the group at Tipsy Taveler?
