From speaking to Aaron, he sent the list to the Npcs so they know what I'm refering to. For example:

name: Firestorm
level: 4th
type: Offensive
time: 20 minutes
benefit: Allows user to throw packets that do 5 magic fire continously
negative: When spell is cancelled, the arcane calls a game stop and everyone out side the focus circle that can hear the arcane voice will take 5 vorpal. Can not cast spells, or use skills, resists, abilities while spell is active.
focus circle required: yes
used with focus circle: yes
used with imbue: no
casting information: nothing happens if interrupted other than spell failing
components: n/a
cancellation of spell: Disenchant, the caster leaves the focus circle, arcane cancels the spell, the arcane falls unconscious, the arcane is hit, the arcane is hit by any effect
min casting: Yes, The arcane lose all magical enchantments and take 5 vorpal to take 10 minutes to cast the spell.

Also for note, when the arcane is throwing packets, he is not casting. The casting of the spell is the 20 minutes, then after that they are merely using the effect of the spell. This is important as it clears up problems with quite a few other spells (like light, since you would be casting while carrying it otherwise which is just dumb).

I agree that there should be a Standard Spell Format. What you sounded to be portraying is that almost all spells are broken.

Not necessarily broken, but alot are very open for interpertation. Vague spells are bad and can be broken easily. Also the general rules for casting need to be written down (like the above note about when is one casting a spell) to avoid people getting confused.

"very open for interpertation"

No not really..personally I think the idea that something is open to interpertation is what causes problems.

As for spells being broken..no though I will not say a number here and there will not be tweeked. Forexample...I am wondering if carapace should be 7-8 instead of 9 points. It is 1 or 2 points..it may not change or it might change..not sure just a thought I as 1 of 5 GM's have.

I will say that standardizatin is a good thing and we will endever to standardize everything by our first event next year.

Things we want to get done..
1) Spell description standardization
2) Potion tags
3) Tags in general
4) House skills (need to be reviewed)
5) Trade routes (need a few additional complications in them)
6) Make-up
8) Costuming in general
9) Some kind of lagistic person
10) 2 more perm NPC's
11) A new place to play with more cabins
12) A publishable style rule book. (free of inconsitances and a better format an example is swashbuckler)
13) The character database
14) Revisiting a few skills like the sage line of buffs
15) Buffing a person (make sure the rule is known throughout the universe)
16) a couple miscilaneous questions
17) More FAQ material
18) The implimentation of a reward system.
19) A few clarifications on guild membership
20) I am sure I am forgetting a few things.

So these are a few things we are looking at doing.

Sounds Great.
I'am available and willing to hammer any rules out and help balance things. Just let me know what you would like me to work on, and I will provide you feedback.

I'm going to work out a plan of attack for these things and other organization type solutions. I just want to reiterate to people that yes, volunteers will be welcome in the process but remember this won't be happening until the off season.
