Arcane list

Arcane list
I would like to propose a set list of arcane spells. First of all, to keep the rules the same between all. Secondly, to help those who are just starting to get into spells through the arcane skill. As of first level Arcane, I have no clue what I'd be able to learn.

There are (is) a list of spells, however at first level you only get to choose from a few 1st lvl rituals. If you become an Arcane Ritualist during game play you are on your own, having to learn them In Game. I am re-writing all the spells before the next event to clarify all the copies. I will be bringing a handfull of Spells to hand out to all the Arcanist who have the corresponding spells.
If everyone feels comfortable doing so everyone could post the lists of Spells they have. If no one turns in spell copies, and they dont get re-written they will in effect lose the spell until it can be re-written. Soo... the point is ... From a secrecy point of view its not condusive to publicly announce what spells you have. But!! From an efficeince point of view its Golden!

idea
I have an idea for spells. Below is a suggested format on the minium information a scroll should have. Also, here are the basic rules I have pieced together through conversations and the forum. A person can only have 1 defense spell on them at a time. If you are hit while casting a spell, one loses the spell and must start over again. All other spell functions are found on the spell scroll.
Name of spell
Benifit: What benifit the spell grants
Negative: Any side effect the spell might have
Discription of Casting: How the spell is cast
Type of Spell: Is the spell defensive, offensive, or other. Only 1 defensive spell can be on a person, but one can cast and use offensive and other spells with a defensive spell active.
Focus circle required: Yes or No
Can a focus cirlce be used with the spell: Yes/No
How is the spell stopped once it has been cast: Does the spell fail if the person is hit, last until used, disenchanted, until one leaves a focus circle, etc..
Componets: Any componets that are required to cast the spell
Min cast possible: Is min casting possible, if so what are the rules and adjusted casting times
Casting time: how many minutes to cast spell
Example
Spell: Light
Benifit: Creates a light source. Small flashlight, glow tube, etc Works in rain and underwater
Negative: N/a
Description of Casting: Cast spell on an object the arcane is touching. At any time the arcane is not thouching the object the light spell is canceled.
Type of Spell: Other
Focus Cirlce Required: No
Can a Focus Cirlce be used: No
How is the spell stopped once it has been cast: Disenchated, arcane is not touching object, arcane cancels the spell
Componets: Any non living object
Min cast possible: No
Casting time: 10 secs
What do people think. I think this will clear up any questions on what a spell can and can not do.

Which spell needs review?
-Eli (Full Elvish: Elaith Vonaduran Craulnober)
There once was a man named Eli,
A man who claimed he could not die.
But one thing makes him wail:
That's when there is no ALE!
Thus his tale: with no beer, he will cry.
(The dark haired, green eyed mage child has faded into the past leaving behind one not quite an adult, but clearly no longer a child. The warrior-mage mixture that he has become can only be described as a survivor. )

Eric after 2 years we are reviewing things like sage times. Basically there is no way to forsee all bugs of a spell or new rule before introducing it to game.
And you being a programmer you should no this hehe

And thus why Nelkie and I have been going through all the spells and making them consistant over the spread (never said you guys had to do it, granted you've chosen to do most of the work yourselves). Plus fixing things like when is a mage casting a spell vs using a spell (this one change makes a bunch of spells so much simpler), etc.
And there is a pretty good way to know most bugs. Testing testing testing...

Aside from the resist spell, which I have already stated could be fixed by adding in that only a person able to cast it can have it cast on them, which was shot down, could you give an exaple, and compair it with other skills in the game for which the particular spell over powers.
Here is my example
Fire Storm: Masive effect, but that spell is only good with a "hey there gonna be here at 'bla' time so start casting". Does it do a lot? yes, can it be stopped, sure hit the mage while casting!
"most" is NOT a good example

RE
Soco that was confusing
Oh and I disagree with firestorm. I mean the siege took more than 20 minutes and that spell alone would have killed all our empaths.
And there is no way of effectivily testing spells outside of an event setting.

I believe SoCo's post was part of an ongoing exchange with Reid, in which Reid was insinuating that all our spells where poorly reviewed, inwhich case SoCo asked for an example. Reids reply was simply that 'Most' of our spells where handle in the above mentioned poor manor. At this point SoCo said 'most, is not an example'. SoCo first mentioned that perhaps the 'resist' spell could have been altered (mentioning also that he previously offered a solution that was turned down), SoCo then sited the 'firestorm' spell as his own example, including both up and down sides, as possible points of review.
