What is the calculation for the amount of time in between events?

Okay, here's what I heard it was, supposedly confirmed by Aaron at one point with Plot Monsters...

There are only four events a year, so even if there isn't actually 3 months in between events, for sake of ease, all calculations between events would be based on 3 months.

Then, we have to sleep 8 hours a day, plus do other random stuff for about 4 hours (including eating, getting dressed, getting to and from the fields, and so forth), so 12 hours a day was fair to spend on work/trade/skills.

So 12 hours a day for 3 months (1080 hours)... but then there was supposedly some percentage of "downtime" where even if one would indicate "that's all I did for 3 months..." they wouldn't get the full 1080 hours.

#1 - Was there ever anything like this?
#2 - Does it still work this way?
#3 - Are we really alone in this universe?
#4 - Is there ever going to be a calculation that players will be able to reference?
#5 - If not, what safeguards are there to ensure that everyone got equal time to do things?

I know for a fact Aaron did have a calculation like this (he has a formula for everything, granted some need to be tweaked for accuracy of course). I do believe the 1080 sounds right, but can't remember if he rounded to 1000 or not.

And for number three, one of my favorite book/movie lines: "I don't know. But if it's just us, it would be an awful waste of space."

As a general rule of thumb, downtime occurs in real time unless otherwise stated. As for between events I believe almost all of the skills besides research are now limited to IG. As for the nature of research, you are never gauranteed to learn anything, so it takes as long as it takes.

I used a calculation of 3 months between events. 3 months X 30 days per month x 10 hours a day = 900hrs of useable working time inbetween evetns. At the beginin gof FH I was told a person could only work 10 hours a day. The rest of the time was used for survial.

But as Todd has said it is a done issue. Ony researching from the sage skills or making of new spells or alchmy recipies can be done inbetween event. Everything else is roleplaying and poltics.
