hero point is WAY too powerful just for note. No spell, potion, or skill (beyond the ones already in existance) should ever allow for +1 damage.
now can we count armor spells as a non buff since they reduce a real life hazard (it's hot in summer, and cold in winter)? Same theory as light. Honestly, I see this all as unecessary.
Light - you get a light, but you have to have an actual light.
Time - you get a resist of your choice, but all skills cost double.
Carapace - you get 9 armor, but you are in heavy and cannot wear any other armor.
Firestorm - You can throw packets for 5 magic until the cows come home, but you may not leave the focus circle.
All of these are a spell and a negative. Just gear the system around what it's already leaning towards.
Also on the 5 vorpal thing, quite a few were hit with 12 backstab while swinging crush, which should have brought them to -2 at a minimum, so yeah, most didn't take it, I'd guess. For those that want the math, 17 life - 5 from spell - 1 for crush -1 for rage - 12 for hit = -2.

In answer to Ried's earlier question, the spells really shouldn't be giving multiple things, if they do then that needs to be looked at as well. I have yet to hear of or have any alchemical formula that grants multiple things. The sage can but IMO they should be the only one.

Hmmm, I know I took the 5 damage. I apologize if that was not the case universally. I can see how there would have been confusion because I know some NPC's had some resists but none of them should have been able to resist that spell. We will make sure people are better informed in the future. This sounds like an our bad, won't happen again kind of a situation. At least, as I said before, the first wave did minimal damage--the other waves would have been uneffected by the spell.
Sorry again,
Mike

Another confusion may have existed in the fact that some were playing multiple ga'vin at any given time and may not have thought to take the five damage for each one, thus being able to survive a 12 backstab. I'm throwing out these explanations simply for documentation so that I can know what to address during these battles in the future.

Ok first, ALL spells where suposed to be turned in so they could be clarified. If you didnt do thid you didnt follow directions. No hostility, just pointing it out. Second, I still need to know what spell your refering to that gives multiple things. Third, I honestly didnt get to read all the posts, so I will ammend this later. Fourth(ly), Where did the Hero Point thing come from. It needs its own topic if were going to discuss em. Fifth (and lastly), 15 Backstab. Its possible in the melee that the target simply didnt hear it. At one point I was killed, had my arms above my head, was screaming 'dead' and was still being beaten soo badly that Colin felt it neccessary to stop the combat to tell the other PC's I was already dead. In addition I know that the wolves had a resist damage that they could hold till the big numbers where called. No excusses, just possible reasons.
