Here's a very slight modification suggestion that I'd like to suggest for Character Point advancement. Overall, only 5 Character Points are added up to Level 20 with a more even distribution so there aren't "dummy points" waiting for next event to be spent. All of your skills cost a minimum of 20 Character Points, and few cost x + 5 so I evened it out. What say you?
After your first event:
4th Level
170 Character Points
After your second event:
8th Level
110 Character Points (280 Cumulative)
After your third event
12th Level
40 Character Points (320 Cumulative)
After your fourth event:
16th Level
15 Character Points (335 Cumulative)
After your fifth event:
20th Level
5 Character Points (340 Cumulative)

The game's designed so all characters can reasonably work together on the same tasks. Any more advancement and we could end up with high and low level characters who just aren't compatable. Such forced factionalization is what I feel to be the worst aspect of CARPS, though it's an inevitable result in games with unlimited advancement.
Learn the past. Observe the present. Guide the future.

FH has a different ideal system for character growth that was already said above.
Unfortunatly this sytem does not catter well to people who really like working on their character from a mechanical standpoint. I hear you tanya since making characters are always what I find fun.
