Restore
Master Healers can still do this, right? It was a skill originally listed for Healers, but isn't in the current rulebook. When I asked about this (long ago) I believe I was told it was a misprint, and Restore still exists.
Just want to make sure this is still true.
As I recall, Restore allows a Healer to spend 15 minutes to regenerate a lost limb on a patient (seperated body part not needed for Restore to work).

When we started playing last September/October or so, it wasn't in our rulebook, if that helps the Plot team trace back where it might have been lost.

I'm certainly of the opinion it should be kept. It's not broken - someone who loses a limb is pretty much stuck that way until combat is over. Even then, Restore costs some significant downtime.
Also, without Restore, a character who loses a limb may as well be retired.

What got me thinking about this was Corbyn's lost eye. Without restore, an eyepatch will have to become a permanent part of his costume. Having no depth perception for an entire weekend will definitely suck.
There's many more uses for Restore than actual delimb calls - making it's need far more frequent.

Agreed, I think restoring a limb when you have the lost limb is in the realm of the healer. Restoring a limb that has been rotted, eaten, disolved, teleported, burned, consumed by magic, etc is in the realm of alchemy and magic. I can see the ritual taking some time to cast and growing the limb back quickly. I see alchemy growing the limb back slower like a lizard regrowing a tail but with fewer side effects than a ritual.Dallid wrote:Limbs are subject to being disintegrated, burned, rotted, or eaten away - a delimb with no limb remaining. We need some way of fixing crippling blows like that. If not in the Healer's bag-o-tricks, then as a potion or spell.
I would propose that:
A healer with the surgery skill can restore a limb to a patient providing that the healer has the limb. It take 10 minutes to restore the limb after which, the patient cannot fully use the limb (IE charge skills that require the use of the limb) for one hour. The limb restored doesn't necessarily need to come from the patient himself
Can two other GMs approve this?
I would also say that limbs can be restored through mystical and alchemical means even if the arcanist/alchemist does not have the limb. If someone wants to spend some time researching these, PM me.

OK my thoughts on Restore
You need a limb. Infact you always needed a limb it was not a mystical regen thing.
It was part of surgery.
If you ont have a limb then you have to find one like Florin.
Enjoy
