Chieftain and Torture

1. When a chieftain is tortured, does he still lose lps. (it doesn't say he does, so I would assume not.)
2. If so, does one lifepoint cover the entire torture session? (i would think so. But there would be a gap and you could just torture them twice, since after the first time, they would be down to 0 lps.)
