Undead Slayer

Post by Dallid »

'Repel' needs to have its effect finalized. When FH first began, the answer I got from the NPCs about it was along the lines of 'We're not really sure right now. But when you call it we'll improvise something.'

Well, often when I call 'Repel', I just get a blank look from NPCs as they ask ME 'what does that do?'

So I really need to know.

What I suggest is this:
Destroys low-level undead just as a Banish.
Causes a Fear effect against mid-level undead.
No effect against high-level undead.
Learn the past. Observe the present. Guide the future.

I'd say it should be like a press against high level undead.

Fear

You have to hit them with a packet or sword. I'd personally much rather see it
as a fear effect undead can not resist.

It will work as an old school fear effect for undead. (Ie they will run away..or shamble away...maybe crawl away....or fly away even...sometimes they might burrow away...or.....anyways, you get the point)

I agree with Travis, i do think it should be something that undead cannot resist, but only against lower levels...i dont think me (a 4th level character) should be able to turn a major undead baddie away with repel. but im just a warrior...so i just try and kill it anyway.

Well, I'm content with that answer honestly. We can tell them to run away now.

High level undead will be immune to repel.

My understanding is Repel can't be packet thrown. Is this true?

Repel undead Skill as it is in the book states:

Level 2: Repel Undead
You can repel undead by not attacking and walking boldly forth. You can repel certain undead by hitting them with a packet or sword. This skill costs a life point and you must yell “Repel” when using this skill. This may not affect higher-level undead creatures.

Packet Or sword

Post by cole45 »

SO it actually has to be a sword or packet? It couldn't be an axe?

Any reason for that given the Weapon Focus of headed at rank 4?
