"Shale, if you can get a read on this thing, feel free. Latham, any ideas you've got I'm willing to hear before I start trimming. Either way, we need to be quick - for its sake and for ours."

*Looking at Donovan after receiving his orders* Donovan, Sir.. if we are going to attempt to free this... woman.. then let us put th epower of all three of us behind this.. perhaps Shale can determine the patterns of this magic, if necessary I may be able to disrupt the magic holding her, if there is any.. and perhaps your Light can restore her to what she once was.. but I believe this will only happen if we work together.. Sir.
*With that said, Ian starts to scrutinize the "woman"in the vines again.*

Shale stops in his tracks and nods to Latham, "You heard the man..." And hussles back to his friend's side.
He focuses his skills and knowledge as best he can to see if he can help the girl.

*Donovan nods to Ian.*
"If Shale or Latham have any supernatural input on this thing, I'm willing to listen. What I'm not willing to do is have Latham anywhere near here when we set this thing free. If this thing is evil, hostile, hungry, or just plain anrgy, I want him well on his way home when we find out. At the moment, I'd be reluctant to disrupt any magic until we know more about it. While magic might be causing this thing to suffer, it might also be the only thing keeping it alive."
*Turns to Shale and Latham.*
"Do you have anything?"

Latham stares at the girl in disgust and mutters something under his breath, and then, for all to hear, "This is no magic I've ever seen and nothing from my readings about the Prophecy would have prepared me for this. The readings make no mention of shifts so it must be something else, perhaps a continuation of the cataclysm but I suspect that this display is more by design than by disaster, but who or what could do such a thing, I have no idea. The transformative nature makes me think alchemical rather than magical, as if she injested something and its effects went nightmarishly wrong, or perhaps this is the effect its maker intended, I do not know. I'm afraid I cannot tell you more, this is far from my area of expertise."

Shale nods in concurrence with Latham, "Yes, I agree. This is awful in execution. Damn cruel and sloppy if this woman was some kind of experiment. Ian, your a witchhunter... any chance you can dispel whatever this is?"

*Looking concerned, Donovan gives Ian a nod.*
"Go ahead Ian. See if you can dispel the magic that's causing this. Shale, go ahead and Latham a safe distance from here first."
*Steps back and readies his sword. When Shale and Latham are a few hundred feet down the trail, he gives Ian the word.*

Shale steps close to Ian as he prepares and makes ready to do whatever he can, much as he has been hovering around Latham. He nods to Donovan and Latham to make sure they are safe and ready for what may come next.

Shale looks at the woman and the vines assessing the situation. He makes a scowling face thinking the vines would probably have been better to remove first, but hindsight being much clearer decides the issue is moot, not to mention his fault for not thinking of the vines first, and rolls up his sleeves setting his weapons down turning to Donovan saying, "Donovan, we will need to work together on this. I'll use transference to push life into her body while you surgically remove the vines. Together we may be able to save her. Agreed?"
He holds one hand over the woman's eyes charging a spell in the other hand, calmly hits the scared woman with magical sleep.

*As soon Shale's enchantment takes effect, Donovan starts cutting the vines away. Once the woman can be freed he moves her a few steps away and assesses her condition. If needed he begins the surgery. His eyes glow softly as he focuses the Light through her form. *
"Indeed, Shale. Keep her stable."

Donovan slices into the vines and to his horror, blood begins flowing from the vines themselves, pumping faster than one might imagine. Shale uses his magic to attempt to stabilize the woman but she grows pale before your eyes and then begins seizing. Donovan pulls out staps of cloth and begins applying pressure to the wound, working rapidly to attempt to bind the wounds, which after several moments, he is successful at doing. Meanwhile, Shale's energy flows into her body, and eventually the seizing stops, her breathing returns to a shallow rhythm and she lies there before them looking as helpless as an infant...
