A poll about arcane and alchemy
Based on the posts we have made you can get an idea of how spells will be done and how potions will be done.
You also get an idea of where the power level of potions are.

I only have one problem. There was a spell that I came up with and penalized as much as I thought I should. Then you guys looked it over and penalized it more. And a agreement was made. It's name was Spirit fire and it was 1 lp restored every three minutes*max of 5 gained in that way*. The healee had to be in negetives to start the spell. And if the caster was distrubed durring the casting, the caster would take on that persons negetives. It was first level. It wasn't used before because of it's extreme nature.
The new version of this spell, Spark of Spirit, I can never imagine using. To take myself out of the picture completely, seems so extreme. I realize that you and the other GMs must have rethought this up as fair and I will say it may come in handy for someone. And although it was my one and only spell that I felt a connection with, I can never see wanting to use this verison.
As far as I've seen Spark of life working now is, a person looks at someone else on the ground and thinks that that person that is dieing would be more useful in the battle and there isn't a healer around. So that caster makes a big scarifice and takes their place on the ground *after one minute* and starts dieing. While the person that was on the ground gets up and becomes useful. I can see it as being a last resort heal....... but normal use? And still if the caster is distrubed, then they both are in negetives.

Notice the difference in Spell name. Spark of the Spirit instead of Spirit Fire. We introduced a new type of spell called an add on. It just so happens that the Spirit Fire spell is the first add on spell we came up with. It adds on to the Spark of the Spirit Spell. Anyone who already had Spirit Fire will get both Spark of the Spirit and the new Spirit Fire. The spell functions pretty much the same as it did before. I will PM you the spell

I feel pretty comfortable saying that soak type buffs will stay within the realm of the alchemist.
The arcane will have blow up type spells and utility spells that are wierd. (great damage, low defense, necromatic and scary)
Alchemy will have heals and transmutations (better buffs and worse side effects)
Sage is neutral.
NO spell or potion will trump another nor will they chode out an existing path or discipline.
This is a basic idea of the rules we follow which means if you want to research a spell or potion against these rules it will be rejected.
Forexample, a potion that has a nice damaging lash effect will not fly. Likewise a spell that heals like a healer or better than a potion wll also not fly.

These are the kind of things that need to be in a FAQ about Research or Alchemy and Arcane or General Final Haven, depending on how much other info is collectec to go in.GM_Chris wrote:I feel pretty comfortable saying that soak type buffs will stay within the realm of the alchemist.

I think its the kind of thing that a player really ough to know before playing any of these classes. A FAQ seems the most logical place to put it.

Just as a note we wont release any more spells to the public. New spells will be in your check-in folder.
