Trap and rogue changes

Post by Peace420 »

Is the trap ability that basic rogue lost being replaced with something? And will the basic rogue also lose lock picking as well?

Why would you loose lock picking?

There hasn't been anything on locks and I was wondering if you guys were looking at it or not. I don't understand why basic rogue lost trap ability either so I was just posing a question.

I think Rogue's lost it because there is only one type of trap now. A 5 lash

Although that leads me to a question as to whether a Rogue with the Sage research ability could invent new traps, or if the current trap system is in place for simplicity sake?

Traps changed for simplicity.

Locks are the same as they were we are hoping now we have mechanics for creating locks t see more locks.

Will spot reveal traps if used on an area that has a trap?

Do you need to be an advanced rogue to disarm traps?

You need to be an advanced rogue to disrm a trap but if your not a master and it goes off while disarming then you tripped the trap and take damage.

No way of using spot in this situation I can see. Post an example for me

Traps

Post by Nelkie »

What happens to the disaplines , Scout, Beasthunter , that could make simple traps? What do they get instead?

This is how I'm reading traps.
There can be no longer traps repesented by tages.
You must have an actual fisrep that makes a sound.
If the sound goes off in the trap, it does 5 lash.

Heres some questions I have.
Is there a size limit on the size of a trap?? If I could build a buzzer that could fit under a piece of paper, and when the paper is lifted off of the buzzer it would sound, aka 5 lash, would that be legal?

Can traps be portable? Like my ballon box trap I currently have created? If so, is there a size resriction? The reason I ask, is small portable traps are allowed, I know I could a way to have throwable bombs with buzzers in side them that would sound when they hit something.

Can a posion or disease be mixed within the trap? I assume no, but had to ask.

Off the topic. If yu use passwall to enter a building and use passwall to leave the building, is there anything the thief could steal and carry out of the building? weapons, resources???
My Thoughts

For an example Chris, Atrum walks up to a wall where someone, like a wood wraith, seems to have passed through and uses spot to see if there is a secret passage and\ or lock and\or a trap there. Would it then reveal the trap, the lock as well as the secret door. I know at basic you couldn't disarm it but would you be told that the secret door looked to be trapped as well as locked.

Ok Aaron I dont know how to word it soooo I am going to tell you want it is and could you please word traps soooooooo we can remove these questions.

Aaron traps are the size of the boobie traps you see in Goonies. Your ideas are things you see in Mission Impossible and C4/hand gernades.

How do we write trap rules that basicl cut out all these crazy ideas you have.

I want a large chest with a buzzer and pressure plate. I want a pressure plate in the floor or a trip whire in the door.

I do not want a 1 gram pressure plate under a piece of paper.

Also no combos with traps

traps

Sounds good to me. I'll work on the wording. So a trap is large, non portable. Cool. It works for me. I just had to ask :D
