Well um yeah if you end up upsetting every faction in town until no one wants to give you food and water then um yeah you handed yourself a death sentence. This is exactly what would happen in Rl too. Admitedly it is harder in RL but it can happen.

What is funny is when I told a couple players what the mainenance for armour was going to be they were relieved because it use to be alot more expensive in repair costs. I guess repairing armour WAS on average 3 to 4 steel per person per event according to some people.

...a group of guilds could quite easily be set up to mantain each other and have a guild in reserve for trade "black-opps".
Yeah...ask Aaron or Taki how "easy" it is to organize a group of guilds :)
Also correct me if I'm wrong, but the average player will need about 6 or 7 mantainance stickers/event. That's two resourses beyond what is needed for survival (food, cloathing, ect.). I can't speak for anyone else, but McEwan got NOTHING that wasn't demanded for him to turn over to a guild, or gifted to him by a guild. I'm sure that the extra resourses will be suplied by the various guilds, but I'm also sure that upsetting the wrong people (which I appaerntly am wont to do) can easily put a charicter in a possision of chooseing retirement, or "Suicide by Clocktower".
What a great example of mechanics facilitating ROLE-PLAYING. There are also skills in game that give secondary resources. Namely wilderness survival.

Donavan thinks I want to kill him<shrug>.Check. Work with the house and the Griffin, so the orks are pissed at me. Check.

Atrum, have I pissed you off yet? If so could you direct me to the town's clocktower

Have I missed anyone? lol

LOL

Was just asking is all for I've been learning more craftsman stuff and was wondering what this discussion had to do with craftsman.

Seems like the stuff about guilds and all and soloing should be under a different subject heading.

Besides I'm harmless.

It has to do with your new uberness, Kidwynn. Lol. Just a minor worry on my part that the upkeep rules paired with the political rules could be used to put an unpoular charicter, or guild in a possision of having no equipment. So there is SOME tie in to the crafting path

You are correct and I am hoping that the system can be used to actually push another character out of the game without even using force.

I really really hope this happens before I die. I would love to see an entire house or guild grumble under its own meanness.

Then again don't you think it iasier to push a character out of the game by um simply killing them? It just seems like that would be easier. Maybe we should change the rules so evreyone smokes pot and sings songs around camp fires that way no character can be pushed out of game. :)

Rememebr we talking about characters not players. Thought I would make the distinction

Yes, but it's more of a discussion on round-aboutness concerning the skill instead of the skill and all the new things they skills can do or what all a craftsman can do.

It's hell being popular with the GM staff.

I think newbies are in a major power position, not having anything hanging over their heads. We haven't seen the mechanics in action yet, but trade routes could very well be taken by very small outbidding, making even the minor AP of new players critical.

Yes you can have a compound item but all the upkeep goes along with your nifty item.

Wayne, What I meant is that the nifty weapons have now been tied to houses, unless there is another way to get commodities. What is all that other stuff in the political part if the weapons are meant to replace the house powers? And I think McEwan's point about organizing a group of guilds is the paper part, not the RP part. You have to admit that The Crescent Moon is more mechanical than RP, I mean the members were told what guild they would be in. It may have been formed on the field but it's implementation is mostly based on charts and squeezing every possible boon out of it.

LOL McEwan, there are very few people in the town that haven't pissed Atrum off at some point. I know a few of the Griffon have, remember Vaun? Pissing Atrum off doesn't however mean he wouldn't let someone in the guild.
