On multible charicters
Sence the events do not officially end until noon Sunday would it not be possable for someone to say at checkin that they intend to change charicters at 10:45 on sunday, take the hour in the NPC camp, then leave with a new char. with 4 lvls and no real playtime?
For that matter could not someone just show up for a few hours, start with one charicter, switch, then go?
I doubt anyone of the players would do these things, but it brings up the question of why A) allow more then one charicter, or B) why not to start secondary charicters at lvl4?
This intended to start a discusion, not irritate. So please take it as such.

Yep all are correct.
Personally I dont care if a secondary character starts off at 4th level.
IMO at least a player can play an entire event and then after the event is completely finished say they are retiring this character and write on their checkout sheet such and then apply that event's worth of points toward the new character.
You cannot though say play Friday night and THEN come in Saturday as a new character at 4th level because then you would end the event and be 8th level. This wouldnt be right.

I can relate to being indifferent letting people start a little down the road to ease things up. Though, at that point why wouldn't we let everyone start at 4th lvl...
Already having a character shouldn't excuse characters from that first game of 0 level to earn up to 4th... especially as it's the biggest point leap in the entire progression scale.

Well the thing is it doesnt excuse people from level 0, but there are ways around starting at level 0. I mean if your character is ganked by say um pentag on Sunday before game off then your next character should get the XP your previous character earned thus starting at 4th level.

Yes, but I was speaking from the perspective that they were just starting at 4th without trying. Loosing your character and Npcing for a night isn't the same as just popping in 4th.
I certainly wouldn't fault Scott for bringing Kels in 4th level after Brant was eaten... he certainly didn't want to die.

Not a big fan of multiple characters at an event, but I have an idea.
How about setting an exact time if people want to play their other character at an event. Say for instance a 2pm time that anyone who wants to play multiple characters much check out their other character and then check in the new character to play.
This gives people a set time that they can only do the switch-a-roo by and allows npc staff to set aside someone to handle the check-outs and check ins.

i'm indifferent on the multi-character rule... It was arbitrary 4th level start for seconcary characters I chirped in on... Of course, I'm like the biggest devil's advocate on the forums too...

Just to clarify.
I personally think we should only get one char./event and that all charicters should start the first event at 0lvl( In an ambivolent kind of way). I'm happy with the way the rules are writen, just playing devil's advocate.
apologees for typos, I seem to have injured my hand and not use to hunt and pecking
