Bows
The math is Critcal strike does not work.
Level 4: Critical Shot
This skill takes 30 seconds to charge but increases the base damage by 5. This skill can be used in conjunction with the True Shot skill thus making the maximum damage a bow can do 8 and the maximum damage a heavy crossbow can do is 9. To achieve maximum damage, an Archer needs to charge their shot for fourty (40) seconds in addition to any cocking or drawing times.
Is the x5 wrong and examples in the description correct or
us the x5 correct and the examples wrong?
i could go for 15 to 20 vorpal in one shot

There should probably be some language in the desription stating that no skills other than those given by the archer discipline can be used in conjunction with the archer to raise the damage above 8, 9 for heavy crossbows.

How long does it take to cock a bow? It shows crossbow, packetbow, and packetcrossbow, but no bow?
Also, I do not see a reason for increasing the "load time" between a packetbow and a non-packetbow, esp since the packetbow user must have a suitable phys-rep anyway. The packetbow user is going to have far less range than a non-packetbow user, and in many cases, also be less accurate.

There is no draw time for a bow. The time it takes to knock and draw an arrow in RL is the draw time. The packet bow has a draw time to simulate this drawing and knocking of an arrow. I can throw packets alot quicker than I can draw an arrow.

Brad have you ever tried to nock and draw a bow when there is someone swinging at you, running or doing anything but nocking and drawing your bow? it is alot harder then just throwing a packet. just a thought form an archer

Sure it does, if you have an appropriate phys rep then you don't count, if you use a packet phys rep then you count 10 seconds to similate loading and aiming. This does not explain the time difference between a packetxbow and xbow (which shoots further and is more accurate).

Did anyone read the rules before responding to me? Or are people not interpreting x-bow to mean crossbow?
"Heavy crossbows do +1 damage, but it takes 15 seconds to cock"
"While simulating a heavy crossbow with packets, the cock time is increased to 25 seconds from 15"
I understand 0 count to 10 count, but do not understand 15 count to 25 count. I feel it should either remain at 15 count or both should be 20 count.

AHH, you weren't clear on what you were asking. You are asking about HEAVY x-bows and only mentioned x-bows, did you read your question Anyway, it's the same concept even with a proper functioning phys rep the heavy x-bow takes 15 seconds to cock, with a packet heavy x-bow you add the 15 for all heavies + the 10 for packet phys rep. The 15 has nothing to do with the 10. It does seem a little long to cock and aim but then again you get +1 damage without having to have the discipline higher than the first level. Off the top of my head I can't think of any other disciplines that allow you to do +1 damage at the first level.
