Press
There is no physical contact in the game but at times you will need to get someone out of your way. We simulate this by doing a press maneuver. Those whose racial boons, and or disciplines allow, may make one press per person per scene. If a character is granted a press manuever from more than one source (i.e. one from a racial boon and one from a discipline skill) they may perform an additional press per person per scene for each skill or boon that grants them the ability. To deliver a "press", hit any part of the target's body, weapon, or shield with your weapon and yell “Press.” The person you are pressing can counter your press by expending his or her press, if he or she has one. If a person counters then you must continue fighting, but if the person chooses not to counter then they must take two or more steps to the side and let you pass. They cannot jump back in front of you before you pass. Please note you can counter any presses that are called against you as long as you are standing.
My question is what if i want them to move back as opposed to the side?

...and the 11th commandment is:
good point. We could add in an optional direction call. So to get someone to step back you would say "Press Back" or to specify a side you would call "Press Right" or "Press Left". It would be up to the player being pressed to judge if they can move in that direction safely. If not, they pick the nearest place to that direction they can safely step. Thoughts?

I see a potential cheese problem with 'They cannot jump back in front of you before you pass'. Theoretically, someone can 'hold the door open' for his friends by simply not passing.

Or you could add a count to how long the person has to wait before they can get back into the place they were pressed from. Showing the amount of time it would take them to recover their balance from being shoved out of the way.. say a 5 count or something. Also stops the problem Dallid pointed out of someone pressing and then not moving and holding a doorway indefinetly.
