Back stab question

Post by GM_Chris »

Anyone have any issues with the way this is worded if we decided to institute a back stab call:

Backstab
This is treated as regular damage but may only be delivered to the back side of a target. A person may say “three Backstab” and you would take (3) points of damage if the blow hits you in a legal target area—this damage comes off the armor first.

Thanks
Chris

Questions

Will there be an explaintation some where in the book of what a legal target area is?

Whats the charge time?

Besides that, it is good.

This is not the description for the skill, it is the description for the damage call so charge times should not be here. Legal targets are described in the combat section and the backstab description states:

"...may only be delivered to the back side of a target."

Suggest Back Torso as legal target area.

Or back side of a target including limbs. Limiting it to the "back torso" is another issue I believe

Limbs can be in all sorts of positions and angles during a battle, Backstabs performed on them may lead to the old "He didn't hit me in the back!" arguement.

People that are gonna argue that are gonna argue that no matter what from my experience. I don't think backstab needs anymore limitations than it already has.

Not looking to limit backstab just make things clear.

We plan on making a movie and putting it in the FAQ of exactly what is and what is not legal.
