Robert stands quietly listening to everything that was said.
"I am torn between changing directions to see if this other party truely follows us or to head straight toward Haven and see what happens after anothe day."
Robert turns in the direction of Daniel and Virgil. "Drink", you can all tell this is no mere request, and the command comes with such authority some of you almost think about taking a second drink just to make sure he was not referring to you.
Robert then takes a deep breath and says "We will head toward are target straight and true, but with great haste and hope this camp site is just coincidence.
Robert waits for Mortimer

"Let's not make something out of what is probably nothing."

Zeira grabs his pack, nods to Malachi, and waits for Mortimer to lead the way
"Agreed, Let's get going. How much longer till we get to Haven Mortimer?"

Theon walks up to Malachi and nods.
Takes a drink from the skin and gears up for the road.

"It'll take a few weeks, maybe less," Mortimer says, pausing only shortly to say, "but try not to think about it."
With that, he walks quickly, trusting everyone else will follow.
(Feel free to chat as we walk. I will have more time tomorrow to update. In general Thursdays will see the least activity from my end)

Virgil looks at the drink, ignores it, walks over to daniel and begins walking with him, "I will suport you, dont do anything you dont want, and dont be forced to, thats the way of the elves." virgil keeps perfect pace!!

"Well that's good to know"
As the group continues moving Zeira pulls an apple from his pack and takes a bite
"So what's your story Virgil? I've never actually seen you around town but you seem to be willing to help us which is good. I just kind of feel awkward traveling with someone I know so little about. Now's a good time to get to know each other as any."

And Virgil does keep perfect pace...but the pace is clearly slower this day than last, and Mortimer seems in a rotten mood. Often on the journey he can be heard muttering to himself, though only occasionally are the words intelligible, such as "Or maybe it'll take a month" and then later "or maybe two."
Although he tries to walk off the foul feelings within, Mortimer finally turns and says, "You're right, that's the way of the elves, doing things you don't want to do for the betterment of the group is the way of the elves, while putting yourself first is most definitely human. Not trusting the people you walk with is most definitely human. Blaming yourself," he says, looking at Daniel, "for the atrocities of others is most definitely human." Turning back to Virgil then, he snarls, "Thinking that the person who is leading you is the same one who is going to stab you in the back is most definitely human. Being human...is why we're losing."
Mortimer sighs and glances at Robert for just a moment. Then, back to Virgil in a much calmer tone, "Be that as it may, I won't leave you behind. And it does us no good to have you half dead by the time we get there because no matter what you think, you and your body are not prepared for the pace I'd like to set, so we'll adjust to the one you can handle."
Mortimer starts walking again but then stops, as if needing to say more. "Throughout history, us humans have shown a great ability for acts of amazing heroism. We've won against impossible odds, and we face another one. Robert spouts about hope, and there is, there always is, but unless you can trust the ones at your side or the ones in front of you or the ones who drink from the same wineskin as everyone else, you will never trust the ones at your back, you'll never win."
Mortimer then continues walking...

Virgil walks up to Mortimer and whispers to him, he then turns back to Zeire," your answer will come in time" he then sprints ahead of the group.

Daine glances at Virgil as he sprints off, clearly not very pleased at any kinds of subterfuge. His grip tightens on his hammer, but he relaxes as he turns to the group.
"I'm not the greatest at this, but it seems that all things being equal", he says with a last fleeting glance over his shoulder, "I'd like to get a feel of this other group of people before we make any rash decisions. I say keep to our course, and shade the fire tonight, if we must even have one at all. We ought to get a better idea of their intentions if they keep to their course as well, shouldn't we? Seems like if they knew we were here and had us at a disadvantage, they would have made a move last night.
*Turns to Mortimer*
"Did you get a feel for their numbers, Mortimer? If we were to chance an encounter with them at any time, would we be at a disadvantage?"
"'Course, another option is to stay right here for the day. Don't move an inch, and see what their reaction is to that.

Mortimer turns to Daine in response, "There were eight distinct sets of tracks, human size. We'll definitely want to renote their position tonight, to see if anything has changed."

Dallid maches pace with Daniel.
"After all that has happened - after all that has come to pass - how would you guide fate, had you the power?"

"Just trying to get to know the people I'm traveling with."
Zeira walks beside Mortimer
"We're not slowing down. If someones leg is broken or they are too hurt to travel then that's a reason to halt the pace. Not the fact that someone wants to be stubborn. He will either have to compromise or go home. We cannot afford to accommodate his ego, there are too many other people depending on us."
Zeira turns towards the rest of the group
"Is that fair people?"
