Virgil talks without opening his eyes,"there wont be a problem, i will walk as fast as zeira talks, of course to do that i might be sprinting the way there."

Mortimer nods, pleased by the words and glances at Robert. "Same pace it is then," he says.

*Azra nods to Zeira, still not moving from her position at the base of the tree.*

I will be glad to assist Dallid in finding Gravin and Paul, should they not return anytime soon.

Malachi begins to hum a little tune. The wooden block in his hands is slowly taking shape, though it is nothing recognizable yet. Closer examination will reveal that his eyes are closed.

Daine listens to robert's account of what happened to Daniel, and what Ziera has to say afterwards.

"Believe me, Robert", he says nodding. "I know exactly how he feels. Only someone who saw that night firsthand and lived through it could. My family and friends are dead because they fought back, and if it wasn't for luck, myself and everyone I brought from the fishing village to Far Reach would be, too.

But he has to remember. Use the pain. Let it burn hot and keep you going when you need it to. It can't ever own you, or you lose sight of what has to be done."

It is not long before Paul and Gravin return. They take their place around the fire and report that all appears quiet and secure though no one doubts this could change at any moment.

Now knowing that all companions are safe many of you start nodding off knowing that you will have a turn at watch duty. Sleep comes easy, easier than you thought it would, as the hours slip by.

The night was uneventful as you awke early.

As you stat to awake the first thing you notice is mortimer is no where to be found.

Dallid approaches Theon and Malichi.

“I cannot seem to account for Mortimer. Did you happen to see where he went?”

Zeira wakes up and stretches his arms he walk over by the fire

"He probably went out to get more herbs for the drink. I don't want to take any chances though. Dallid, Azra, you should go look for him now. Everybody else start breaking camp."

*Azra rises to her feet, and shrugs at Zeira's suggestion* I would hope he merely wandered off. The last thing we need is our guide vanishing...

*With that, she slowly walks the perimeter of the campsite, scouting for any signs of Mortimer's leaving the campsite, or anything that may have led him to leave*

Virgil awakes with a start at the news, fearing the worst he draws his sword and heads higher into the tree both to hide and look around

Malachi takes a quick drink from a skin

"He was here the end of second watch, that much I know. As for third, you'd have to ask Daine as well as Theon."

He looks at Virgil

"If'n they were gonna ambush us it would've been while we slept. Come on back over here and calm yourself a bit."

To the rest of the group

"Now, I'm sure there's an explaination for this, and it's probably something along the lines of what Zeira said. One thing we all need to remember is that even though we need to be on our toes, we can't afford to run around jumping at shadows. Fear poisons the mind, and I've got a feeling those will be more useful to us than any blade we swing."

He begins to roll up his bedroll

"He'll be back any time now, rest assured. Let's have camp broke down so we can be off when he returns."

The talk amongst the camp awakens Daine, though by the looks of him, drawn and dark-eyed, while he may have gotten some sleep, it was in no way restful. As the others begin to pack up, he wanders the camp.

"Ugh....long night.

Dallid, I think I was up the latest, and I never saw him leave. Let's hope for the best, though. But in the meantime, I think we should get ready if we have to finish this alone, 'cause I'm not turning back now.

Mortimer returns to camp and, seeing the relieved faces, says, "I apologize. I was out longer than I hoped. While collecting additional herbs I caught the scent of another campfire on the morning wind. They're just far enough away to make me consider the possibility of it being a coincidence, but this is a strange place to find two groups camping, as you are unlikely to get here by accident and there's little here to desire so this clearly isn't their destination. I did a wide circle so as to not be seen, and based upon their tracks, they seem to be travelling in the same general direction as us. My suggestion would be to evade for this day to see if our paths continue to parallel, but I always lean toward avoiding potential dangers if I can help it so I'll leave the decision up to the rest of you."

He offers his wineskin again to all present, saying, "Regardless, you'll want to drink this." He makes an extra effort in front of Virgil and Daniel, pushing it on them with what seems to be genuine concern in his eyes.

He then begins packing his things for the day's journey.

"Yeah, not surprised. It's probably Atrum. If we keep up the speed they shouldn't be able to keep up with us in theory. Dallid, if Atrum said he was going to tail us to keep us out of trouble now's the time to say something."

"Atrum merely gave me some healing potions and asked that I try to bring everyone back alive. I am unaware of anyone seeking to shadow us or make a seperate attempt at gathering intelligence."

"I agree with Mortimer. Roving bands of bandits or hunters can be anywhere, and if this other group is unaware of our presence, perhaps it would be best to keep it that way. Even should the other camp consist of fugitives, we can do them no service now - not in the direction we're going. Perhaps on our way back we can risk investigating parties encountered."
