Cristo gives Theon's shoulder a pat as Theon walks over. Cristo looks at Virgil.
"The safety of everyone in the group is the biggest priority. When you don't do as instructed to do, people get hurt. The mistake that you made this time was small and it could have been much worse. I was just suggesting that next time it would be wiser to listen. I mean, Paul would be dead now from an elven arrow if it weren't for Dallid and he won't always be there to save us.
Cristo nods at Dallid and looks back at virgil with a questioning look.
"Is the safety of the members of this group a priority for you Virgil?

*Azra looks among her group, and clears her throat, speaking up timidly*
Maybe we should thank Torren and Egren for there hospitality, and be on our way. If we're sure we weren't pursued, we can continue this conversation where we won't be intruding on these kind people's peace and quiet...

Robert Stands and puts himself between Virgil and the others.
"This is no time for fighting! We have a riddle to figure out, and good people we might have put in danger."
Gravin walks in the door
"Sir, I see no tracks of elves, but I do not think we are alone."

"The wind could not account for arrows lodged in trees, the forest floor, or..."
*Dallid looks for the arrow he removed from Paul.*

Virgil stands emotionless with a blank look on his face as theon and cristo threaten and yell at him, then when gravin reports there not alone a faint flicker of a smile apears on his face.
"what is it?"

Gravin respond: I do not know, just a feeling in my heart. I do not believe we are safe despite appearances.

Mortimer, taking everything in, finally responds to Virgil's question, though whether he is aware Virgil had already left remains in doubt. "When we first arrived and mentioned elves, someone in the back said, They're here or They've come or something to that effect, as if they were expecting the elves to arrive. I guess I'm wondering why that is."
Egren grunts. "Perhaps it's just a case of a young man being dramatic."
"Perhaps," Mortimer replies. "I can assure you all we did was come to warn you of potential danger. We have only your interest at heart, so if there is anything we should know, anything at all, that might keep us and everyone else as safe as possible, I would appreciate that knowledge."
Egren sighs. "We are just simple folk, like I said before. We don't understand a lot of things, like magics, like lycanthropes. We simply know that we don't travel, that we stay around this cabin, that that's what we've always done, ever since the cataclysm. So I suppose your words just seem so...crazy to the rest of us."

“You have traveled far, whether you know it or not. So perhaps the Elves did pursue us, but ended up elsewhere.”
Assuming Dallid found the arrow, he hefts it. “They, and their arrows, all went somewhere.”
Looks back to Egren. “Your family seemed somewhat alarmed at the mention of “Far Reach”. Has anyone from that area done you harm? I would hope we might clear away any ill conceptions.”

Daine has been standing back, taking in the conversations from both sides. His eyes go wide in surprise when the men in the cottage are named as the ones scouted in the night before, but he just as quickly frows at the infighting in the group.
While Dallid and Mortimer speak to the family, and the others leave to scout, every once in awhile he turns and quietly speaks his mind to the others in the group.
"Hey Malachi, do you think maybe this place is some sort of "waypoint" or something (he holds up the forefingers of each hand about a foot apart).... Like you can be "here", or "somewhere else", but not in-between?
*he shrugs*
Know what I mean? That could explain why you met these guys last night, and then they seem to have passed us, and why the elves seemed to dissapear behind us. Maybe they ended up "somewhere else"?
Or maybe the men you and Azra met were some kind of illusion, but I think that'd have to be some sort of illusion to seem so real".

*Azra seems to take in Daine's words, a thoughtful look appearing on her face, she then looks at Torren, and offers a smile.*
Torren, if you don't mind my asking... how is that carving you were working on coming along? I'd love to see it.

Torren again looks puzzled. "I'm sorry, but I have no such carving."

Daine looks knowingly at Azra, and nods approvingly.
"Well... that goes a good way towards explaining how they got ahead of us, doesn't it?"
