Attention All Who Desire to Help the Haven
*Walking into the Inn, looking about and giving a quick greeting to several, Claude walks to the wall of the Inn. He looks to Atrum for consent, then posts a parchment upon the wall. Nodding to a few more people he leaves to prepare for his journey north.*
IT READS:
I, Sir Claude du Sinjin of Deschaine, am looking for civil minded indiviuals to aid me in a project concerning the Haven villagers. I am looking for people willing to volunteer their time and skills to the educating of the citizens of Haven.
My primary goal is make the villagers literate, secondary is setting up a series of vocational classes to aid any who wish to attend in learning a trade or skill. I am seeking the help of sages in particular but anyone with a skill to teach and time to dedicate to this cause will not be turned away.
I also ask that those of you who can read this, pass it on to those who cannot. Just because you aren't literate doesn't mean you can't contribute or benefit from this project.
If you are interested, please leave a notice here and I will contact you whence I have more information to give.

*Starts reading the document and then looks out the Inn window to see a familiar figure out by the fire whom Kidwynn does not appear pleased at all to see.
*In a low voice still looking out the window*
How DARE...
*Looks over at Kels and he can tell she is not happy, but she says no more and goes back to read Claude's message.*

*Lambic waits his turn and then reads the posting. walks back to his gear sitting a nearby table. He pulls out a piece of parchment and a quill, scribbles something and crossing back to the posting. He tacks the piece up under Sir Claudes.*
The paper reads:
Sir Claude,
I would be willing to offer my time, but I'm not sure how much I have to give. Count me in until I know that I can't for sure please.

Claude, have you spoken with Elder Quetzel? When I first arrived here in Haven, I thought to do the same thing, teach the villagers to read. After speaking with him we decided to teach some of the villagers to read, which I did. Robert was actually one of those that I taught to read, I am currently teaching some mathematics as well.

*Claude walks into the Inn, proceeds to his note and begins to read. At the end he stops, his eyes going wide. Quickly he produces a quill and ink to write some replies before moving off to find Atrum.*
WRITTEN ON THE NOTES:
To Lambic,
I appreciate your offer and will be more than willing to work with any time that you offer. Soon I will need a list of skills that you can teach to better organize our efforts. Until then, I will be in touch!
To Anvyrin Onyk'undi,
I thank you sir for your offer and will now state this: You will not be judged by appearance or your races predilections. You will be judged by your word and deed. With that, I thank you for your efforts. My only regret in this matter is that I do not know you enough to know what skills you can offer the villagers. However, as I told Lambic, I will hopefully learn these as better organize this project. Many thanks!!

*Looking across the Inn, Claude spots Atrum and approaches him. As he closes, his sword is quickly drawn and his cloak thrown back. Patrons look on in curiousity as he stops about five feet from Atrum, plants the tip of his sword to the floor and drops to one knee.*
I cry your pardon Atrum Draconus, I have forgotten the face of my Father. It was arrogant of me to think none have tried as I proposed to do. I meant no disrespect nor to diminish your own deeds, I only hope that I may be forgiven and my efforts may join your own in this matter.

Please, there is no reason to drop to a knee. I am not part of your Phoenix hierarchy and truthfully here in Haven I am not more than a bartender. There is also no need for apology, truthfully I suspect that very few if any outside of the villagers knew of what I have done. As far as combining efforts, we can speak on that. It is true that I have only been teaching the basics of reading and arithmetic. I would also like Elder Quetzel and Robert to be involved in the discussion if that is ameniable to you. I think noone here knows the people of the village better than those 2.

*Nods to Atrum and rises, putting his sword away*
I had planned to speak to the Elder as soon as he returned. To the best of my knowledge he has not yet though... at least I haven't heard the cries of his apprentice which I most certainly expect when he does.
Robert was actually who I had planned on speaking with first, but I wished to have more to present to him than good inetentions. Hence my notice. I have several who are willing to teach langauges and skills that I expect the villagers will find most benefitial. Myself, I can aid in the teaching of reading and writing Common, if nothing else.
I someday hope that Haven can have a grand University, but such noble apirations must have humble beginnings and educating the villagers strikes me as the way to begin. I am glad to have your aid in this matter, with luck we can speak with Robert and Elder Quetzel soon. Tell me, do you currently have any such building for education or will one be needed?
And by the way Good Sir, my apology is not a tradition of the Phoenix Guard, or even of the Knights. It is of the people of Deschaine and of my family. I hope I did not offend, and as Kabre pointed out, *Gives Kabre a rueful glance* that there was no damage to your Inn floor.

I'm sure your skills with sword and bow are admirable but probably better suited to training some of the local militia my friend. I'll leave that task to Donovan and the others that are involved in those efforts.
However, if you can read and write you can be of great use. That is a skill of unestimable value to pass on. And if you, perhaps we can teach you as well as any others who wish to learn.

If you wish to learn friend, we should be able to accomodate you. I see no reason why anyone in Haven who wishes to read, write or learn new skills shouldn't be able to do so. Actually, if the villagers are to aid Havens growth I think they must learn new skills, new ways to apply themselves. Learning to work smarter, not just harder. Time will tell though.

Actually luv I can teach him...er Kels whenever he so wishes to learn for I can read and write. I can teach the villagers a bit about the woods, tinkering, and well some sword play, but I have already discussed such matters with their primary head of their guard Robert.
