In the middle of the night...

A cold bed and a warm ale. Blood stains the walls, but it looks like the Bar Keep is standing...for once.

Kidwynn I will stand guard with you, as you stood with us a few days ago. It was much appreciated.

I have know nothing of magic, I only have my sword. I fear, even though I would do anything to help Captain Steele, this sword won't be enough, but I WILL do all I can to protect her.

*Kidwynn looks at the woman and speaks softly since that is the best she can do.*

Luv I know nothing of fighting magiks much either. If I'm ordered to stand guard in front of this door for now, the company is much appreciated.

*Looks over at Drake*

However, I think for the time bein' my friends would prefer that I actually rest so that I can be understood a bit better and be able to shout of help should the need arise.

Enough

Post by Nelkie »

*Arthos yells in a low but loud gruff voice*

Enough all of you

*In a normal tone*

We have many problems and this just one of them, we cannot afford this conflict between us. Robin made a large mistake, and she is paying for it as we speak and will contuine to pay for the rest of her life. What we need to do is find a solution. I don't agree with Robins actions, but she is my Lord's Lady and my friend and I will do what I can to help. Yelling and pointing fingers will do nobody any good. *Arthos turns to Robin* that includes you my lady

Shale meets Robin's gaze with icy fire in his eyes, but he holds his decorum as he is still at Donovan's call.

He hears Ug's words he can't help but cock a smile, as he doesn't need to speak for himself after all. He turns to Ug and helps him to his feet. "Yes sir, Ug I'd like the opportunity to examine you for enchantments. Even if we don't find anything as these are my orders. Is this acceptable? We also have things to discuss about guild business."

"Mistake?" She hissed. "Assuring the lives of our party and Corbyn's as well was a mistake?" All color had drained from her face. "Get out, all of you! I will not listen to any more of this."

She turned away from them all and went over to a window. Though her words were harsh and angry, the shaking of her slight frame told them it was all a front. She was hurt, and she was crying. But she wouldn't let them near her now.

"Just go... please," she whispered. "It's all so easy for you to pass judgment... but I'm the one who has to live with it. Remember, when you are damning me, that I thought only of my Beloved, and of Haven. Remember, when you are judging me, that this is the price I was willing to pay because I loved you all enough. Only Don Mayo stood with me then, he alone knows what it feels like to stand where I do now."

Robin curled up in Corbyn's chair by the window and gazed out into the night, refusing to turn around. Had they seen her face, they would not have seen anger. Desperation and heartbreak, perhaps, and a great deal of sorrow.

After weeks of seclusion Eli’s door slowly opens when he hears his mom’s cry. He glances at his hat, but leaves it where it has hung for several months. Instead he slips on his cape of stars and heads to Robin’s chambers. His face is a little thinner and his eyes are a little deeper, but other wise he appears to be good. Seeing all the people in the hall he almost turns back, but instead he gives them a faint smile and proceeds past them. He gives Drake a sideways look, as he was never told why after he had turned Drake into a dark elf Drake had lied to him about it. But otherwise he keeps walking into the room unless stopped.

For one so young he radiates magic like wizards of old. Many wonder if given a few hundred years of life what might this young protégé become?

A man who claimed he could not die.
But one thing makes him wail:
That's when there is no ALE!
Thus his tale: with no beer, he will cry.

*Upon hearing the mufled sounds of yelling from inside the room, Kidwynn bows her head as people leave. She turns to Drake, who is now a ga'vin wearing Drake's armor. She nods her head and gives him a salute as to indicate that she is following his orders and is turning in. She realizes there is not much she can do and barely has a voice enough to talk currently.*

Drake, I believe you said I was called for? Has something else happened?

*Eli enters the room looks around as if not sure who most of these people are. He glances at Ug, his former student of the arcane, and Ug’s "guild mate" with an ever so slight look of betrayal in his eyes then curls up with Robin in her chair and hugs her.

“Are you all right mommy?” As she looks into his eyes she sees his innocence and worry there. “Why are all these people in here? What’s everyone so upset about? Where’s Corban?” He doesn’t look like he has slept much over the past few months, which seems funny as he tells her she looks tired and should probably get some sleep. He then proceeds to slumber on her lap.

Shale follows Ug out trying to steady him as they go. He gives Donovan a quick salute in passing.

*Looks up into her eyes again, "do you want me to leave?" His eyes begin to look sad. He turns to glare at those who have upset his mom, still unsure as to the cause of all this.

Robin smiles her first genuine smile in days as her adopted son climbs into her lap. She brushes his hair out of his eyes and kisses him on the forehead. She was worried about him, for he looked so tired, so strained. Too many were the cares upon the shoulders of one too young to be forced to bear them. "No, my dear one. Stay with me... I have a long story to tell you. And I'm going to be needing your help in the days to come."

He reminded her that there was beauty left, and that not all had been lost. He was not hers by blood, but by choice. She had forgetten that he needed her, for Haven had come first. But in those innocent and depthless eyes of hers, he brought he back to the present, and reminded her that he needed her as much as she needed him. She was, after all, his mother now.

For a long time she sang to him until he, and then she, fell asleep. The room of the Duke and his Lady was quiet for the rest of the night, and there were no further altercations.
