Magic Seeds
By: Stephen DeZorn
Date: 1052
Purpose: It is theorized that the seeds were created as a means of lightening the weight of food on travelers walking a long distance.
Description: Individual seeds are about the size of a walnut. They have a dark green shell with dark red stripes.
History: I found a pouch of 30 of these seeds in a saddle bag. The bag was laying near the skeleton of a horse. The bones had been gnawed and picked clean. I had been wondering without food or water for a week when I stumbled across the seeds. I was fumbling to open the pouch and dropped one of the seeds. As soon as it hit the ground, it grew into a melon the size of my head. I cracked the melon open to find sweet white juicy fruit. I devored the whole melon in what seemed like the blink of an eye. I was not thirsty or hungry again for many days.
