5 vorpal, because i didnt want to derail.

back by popular demand, IMPALE!!!

that's right, the last discussion on this was years ago in another thread I started, maybe someday it can get fixed, in the meantime. . .

when I said silly weapon restriction I meant the only 5 vorpal available en mass to PC's is impale, and requires specifically a pike, not any bladed or edged weapon. where as 5 crush is only restricted to any blunt or headed weapon. the common response to this was "well pikes impale people" . . .yes, yes they do. so do swords! "but not like-" let me stop you right there, we have another skill in game that does 5 vorpal with a sword, so clearly through some magical means a sword can and will do the same kind attack that a pike can do, so the defense that only pikes can do this attack just flew out the window.

I have no problem with all vorpal attacks being restricted to edged or bladed weapons (including pikes) just as I have no problem with crush being restricted to blunt or headed weapons.

It seems your efforts are to suck and detail out of the rules so that everything works like everything else. should we then allow melee weapons to work with archer?
the two disciplines your mentioning, that include a vorpal charge up skill, have that skill because of the theme or flavor of that set of skills. Since it causes no imbalance, why fix what isn't broken.
if you are going to use the..."but it doesn't make sense/isn't logical" argument; I will want to tack on the additional change ...to start...that if these vorpal skills are white washed and changed due to flawed logical application; so should things like sages getting research before red and write. If that is to happen, I have a fairly long list of other changes that dont fit how things really work, but have always slammed into the wall of "its a fantasy game because magic..."
