OOG- This is a transcript of our posts in the other thread in story format. (We were asked to start a new thread and transfer these posts)

IC-

Shale and Ravinal trek through the woods to the cave where they had earlier fought the frost wyrm as they had earlier been ordered to having been cut off from the group during the battle.

"Damn it... I hope that Kydwynn can find us after the group gets out of there. If not we may be screwed when we try to get back. Ten days is a long walk even with your druid abilities Ravinal."

"I've walked longer distances. I can track their steps and if nothing else, we'll improvise." Says Ravinal his voice becoming more guttural.

Shale nods, "Yeah, I suppose."

Shale looks troubled and trudges through the paths. "Ravinal... what happened back there was crazy. Curufin... Donovan... The guard is tearing itself apart, and this time I wonder if I'm in the right place. If I am supposed to be here..."

Shale looks around shield ready for ambush, but trusting in his friend's tracking skills.

Ravinal sniffs (Spot) the air, making sure that no other creatures stir that would bother them. His pace steady and sword readied, he moves on

"I just watched my hero fully dismantle in front of me. I felt he'd been losing sense of things; ever since the skull goblet. Though more and more our fellow phoenix seemed to follow what we felt should happen rather than what he ordered." *He sighs* "I have no doubt that the Phoenix will be fine. As for Donovan, I am unsure of his abilities."

Stopping and sniffing the air, looking around and then moving on once again.

Ravinal says, "He said he was dead, I hope to bring life back to his honor."

Shale stops for a moment, "Yes, I would like that very much, but how difficult a task would it be? What if Donovan chops our heads from our shoulders and adds our skulls to his collection for not attacking Zander? I don't care to be a sugar bowl for his tea set."

He resumes walking, "That was the first order I have ever disobeyed in my life."

"Have any thoughts how we might get Donovan to walk back from the path he thinks he was asked by Haven to walk? Ever since that day he has steadily slipped away from us. But, all that came of it was frustration and death. He sits in shadows growing deeper and holding him like a mire of tar."

*Letting his concentration fade for a bit he stops with Shale*

*He sighs once again* "It must be difficult to try to know the future. Opposed to knowing it as a oracle does. He tries to lead well. His experience measures each moment as he presses on with confidence that he will succeed. And yet it was doubt that started his current state of mind. A feeling of forbodden paths. He feels that his honor was tarnished and shall never be retrieved."

*Ravinal lets the beast in his demeanor fall away*

"Shale.....My name is Ravinal Goodson. I was a commoner. I was taken in and shown honor. I was shown the ways of a true knight. I was saved from thoughts of avenging my wife and daughter; only to gain my own death. This man, who has lost what he thought was honor, was the man who has saved many of us in many ways. You may know me as I know you. Though I doubt we truely know those who lead us. And I am afraid to say that I am afraid for those who lead us."

*His demeanor switches back to that of his totem. As his speech grows feral again. He continues his guiding.*

"Our days have not ended, my friend. We may yet see clearer tommorow."

Shale looks at his companion with a look of sympathy. "I had not known you lost a wife and child. My condolences." Shale looks to see how close they are to the cave and if he recognizes anything.

"I too found belonging in the Phoenix Guard. Shale Basenstoke, son of a ex-noble cast down for refusing to put me to death. Persecuted and hated because of the color of my skin, until the guard took me in. I found a life where deed and rank were the measure of a man. I found meaning for my life in protecting those that once spurned me from the forces of darkness." He seems to be distant now. His eyes staring back in time rather than at the leaves aroun them. "And, satisfaction in being needed, and respected, by the people that had stoned my mother and I."

*Looking at the tracks over battle ranging from where the cave must be; Ravinal increases his pace.*

"It would seem that Haven has it's share of reforged souls. Souls that have been broken by lifes dealings."

*Already begining to smell the dragons remains, his faces twists in disgust.*

"If there was any time to not have an enhanced sense of smell.......This would be it."

*After about a half hour's swift walk, Shale and Ravinal reach the mouth of the cave near the Keep. There are sloppy tracks everywhere that are several days old and a few odd marks in the ground.*

Shale nods to Ravinal and says in a hushed voice, "Okay, your the tracker. What has been in the cave since we fought the Ice Wyrm, and what's in there now?"

Arthos

*You here a low growl coming from the enterance of the cave and the sound of smothing sniffing. as you look towards the enterance you see 2 slightly glowing eyes approaching attached to a humanoid body*

*As it draws closer a low growling voice speaks*

My friends, we must leave immeditly. All the people of Haven are being escorted from the lands of Frostfell by force. We must join the main group so we don't get lost from them or worse killed as traitors by the soliders of Frostfell. Lord Corybn has dispatched me to bring you back. He told me not to worry about the wyrm meat. I know the way back, so please follow quickly.

*The perosn looks directly at Ravenal,*

Of course my brother, you do not require my help to find your way back.

*The person flashes a wolfy grin and turns*

*As the person turns you realize it is Arthos with out a shield and only carrying his sword.

*Before Arthos turns out of the cave you hear another recognizable sound... the howling of a Yeti from inside the cave, followed by several other howls.*

*From some where behind Shale you hear a twig snap. as you turn to see what it was you see Kels standing there holding a broken twig from the tree he is leaning on*

Runing

*Arthos ear perk up as he hears the howels. His face becomes set and turns to everyone*

I think it is best we leave.

*As Arthos leaves the cave*

It's good to see you Kels, we might need you bow shortly here, but for now, lets see if we can out run them. It's pointless to fight, we need to save our energies on keeping the house safe in these hostil lands.

*You all would notice that Kels is not his normal happy self, his face is cold like it has been frozen by the cold wind of this wasteland*

"It is good to see you all not harmed."
"I think i would be best if we got back to the main party as well...."
*He sort of mumbels under his breath*
"We should have never come to this god forsaken place...
*he trails off. and waits for a moment*
"So we should be going then."

*scratches his chin*
*To Shale* "I take it this means we make due with what we have. After all, there is plenty that we've taken and I doubt the new occupants of this cave are willing to share what might be left."

*To Kels and Arthos* "Good that you two are here. The more we have here, the less I can focus on not dieing."

*Follows those that are leaving.*

Shale seems a bit miffed, "We came all this way out here I think it would be a shame not to at least try. Of course, I do not know what made that growl or how formidable it is, but surely with all of us here now we could handle it.

And obviously, since you weren't escorted here, whether you find us here or fifty feet from here would matter little to a band of Frostfellian Guards. I say the damage is done lets strike while the iron is hot, and in this bitter waste that won't be long.

However, I am not suicidal enough to go in there alone, and I appreciate your coming to find us."

Shale looks over at Kels with sympathyand compassion. "Brother, I would agree to your wish, but I know in my heart that if we had not left Final Haven the same would have come to pass. Perhaps simantics would have changed, but what happened back there was a long time coming."

*Kels looks at Shale his eyes somewhat glazed over*

"That may be true Shale but not only have friendships been shatterd.... *he looks at the ground then locks eyes with Shale* but everything that we have done here has been as well, and for what? So that Curufin could show off how much he loved her.....He let his personal feeling dictate his command... and it is not just this time there have been others as well... *Kels stands there collects his thought* And then there is Donovan.....
*Kels stops punches the tree you can barely hear* "Why....there was no reason for it we did our job....why?" *a single tear falls from his face looks back at Shale then to Ravinal and to Arthos* "I think that we should go it sounds like more then just one Yeti we might have a chance to beat them but they are nasty to fight and i would rather rejoin the others."

"I know how important this is to you, Shale. It should be as important to everyone, for what we've hunted could be of great use to Haven. Yet, there are problems within the Phoenix that need to be resolved. Great gasps where friendships once stood.....*He pauses*......... And it will make it quite difficult to survive going back to haven with just the four of us; *under his breath* if they leave us behind."

*Looks at Shale, trying to gauge how serious this is for him*

"Though, I would not be the one to decide whether we stay or go. I see virture and possibly death here. I will say this; I see great use in staying and even greater danger in it."

*Standing with sword still readied. He looks at the cave's mouth*

"I hate this place. *He smiles* Though, if we were to stay and finish this; I would regret nothing."
