Confused about Arcanist?

Hey guys, I was going to make a Healer/Arcanist but under the Wizard spells it just says "Special" What does that mean? Thanks. 
The Arcanist discipline merely allows you to pick up Wizard path skills per the Discipline - I.E.
Arcanist level 1 - Pick 1 Basic Wizard effect (which means Path skill).
and so on as the Discipline states.
Alternatively as you gain more character points you can purchase other Path skills out side of your path as well.
