I understand that we need a clarification on military points. Your military can only be used to perform the actions listed in the book. The different types of troops are there simply to allow you to customize your army in the event you wish to do a muster action. When you do a muster action, your troops are there to assist in battle. They are NOT your personal servants. They use their skills on themselves and for themselves as part of the larger scheme that you have devised. In short, you cannot buy a bunch of wizards for the sole purpose of hoarding potions.

Hope that helps clarify the intent of the military.

I will add that they have their own personalities and such too, so when you perform a "muster" you are essentially creating a "plot" and the NPC's wil act accordingly.
