Another Day

*Ingram stood under the eve on the front of the House, watching as his students filed out after yet another day of instruction. A smile pulled at the corners of his mouth as they passed him, talking happily amongst each other.
Some had advanced to the point where he and the others at the House had little left to teach them. They would leave to see the world and have adventures of their own. His smile wavered at the thought of losing some of his favored students, but was bolstered when he reminded himself that there would never be a shortage of new minds.
Ingram chuckled to himself as he made his way back into the main area of the building, walking past gambling patrons, some laughing gleefully over their winnings while others cursed their poor luck, the dealer, and whatever else happened to present itself. He procured himself a cup of hot tea before settling into a soft chair, watching and listening to the activities around him.*
