I'm very sad to tell everyone that the woman who the Guthrie race was named for died this morning.
My wife Kelly Guthrie died from heart failure this morning around 3:30 am. She was only 36.
Lilly Corbyn, Marion and myself are hanging in there.

Chris mentioned it on his Facebook page. Aaron, my heart is out to you and your family. I can't believe it. I still remember meeting up with you all at the Highland Games and passing around your youngest (still a baby then) like a hot potato game. Lots and lots of laughter. I remember LeeLee meeting up with her at a CARPS game ages ago, shouting, "Sailor Moooon!" Always smiles and laughter when she was around.
I don't know that we can do much, but please don't ever hesitate to ask. My thoughts will be with you.
Much, much love,
Sam

Thank you for posting....I am so sorry....
I remember you told me that the reason she didn't come to Larp was because she got everything she wanted from LARPing...she got you.
I met her briefly at the one day event....she was running around in the snow NPCing....
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.....

This is very very sad. I didn't even notice this thread untill Shea called and let me know.
My heart goes out to you, the kids, and your family. It's so shocking to loose someone so young and close to our community. You have my sincerest condolences.

Aaron, I wanted to call but couldn't imagine that it would help. I still want to call, I want to say something...
I haven't really known you since high school, but for a while we were both in the same tight circle. You and Kelly are extended family anyway, because of this miracle of friendship we are lucky enough to have in the form of these games. But beyond that, we had the bonfires in your backyard and late nights in Keesler's basement, and you were my friend, and my heart bleeds for you.
I hardly knew Kelly. I think my most vivid memory is Blackthorn and Agnes' wedding, when all the rumors were starting to fly that you two were an item. I remember her smiling - did they make her wear a beard? - I get the impression she smiled a lot.
My love and deepest sympathy to you and your children. I know I am not alone when I say that you are still family, and our shoulders - there must be nearly a hundred of them - are here to lean on.
