Things mentioned to me at the event

Just a couple of points that were brought up at check-out that probably should be addressed.
1. Political numbers: Are they right?
2. Mimic: Should this be useable inbetween events?
3. Codex: Can you use multiple?
My thoughts:
1. They are wrong for privileged. Easy to fix.
2. No. Considering Wilderness survival is out, so should both political skills, and Sage is already cool enough.
3. No. Easy enough to change wording to match Healer Kit style. (ie You get 2 hints instead of 1 when using Recall)

Political system in general. I've talked to some people and the system as a whole in confusing. If possible, can it be explained better after the off-season for there are those who simply don't understand the new way it goes.

As I completely agree, the rules are very unclear as to a sage mimicing beuracrat (yes, bad spelling) and spy.
Here's the write up of Mimic
Mimic
With this skill the Sage may mimic ANY first level Discipline or Basic Path skill except for wilderness survival, Alchemy, and Arcane. It takes 5 minutes to receive the skill, but the skill lasts until the Sage mimics a different skill. Any armor restrictions of the mimicked skill still apply.
Here's the important points I was trying to make.
the Sage may mimic ANY first level Discipline or Basic Path skill except for wilderness survival, Alchemy, and Arcane.
Note that it says, "ANY" as in ANY and the word is in all caps even! Then it goes on give specific examples of the exceptions. Again, note that Allegience and Investigation are not on that list of exceptions.
the skill lasts until the Sage mimics a different skill.
I read that exactly as stated. If I mimic lesser channel and don't mimic anything else for the rest of the event, according to that statement, game on next event, I still have lesser channel mimiced.
I
promise I have done that on more than one occasion when I played my sage and mimic took a half hour. How was I to know otherwise?
Again, I'm not saying that they should be able to mimic those skills, but if you are not going to allow them to do so, make the wording of mimic just a little more clear.
My suggestion -
Mimic
With this skill the Sage may mimic ANY first level Discipline or Basic Path skill except for wilderness survival, Alchemy, and Arcane. It takes 5 minutes to receive the skill, but the skill lasts until the Sage mimics a different skill
or until the end of the event. Any armor restrictions of the mimicked skill still apply.
Just add that little part and it's all fixed!

fixed it for ya.
(don't need to exclude wilderness survival since it gets caught in the end of event.)

I am with you here. It would add a lot of clarification.

I appologize if I'm now nit picking..
Level 1:Wilderness Survival
This skill allows for more rapid travel through the wilderness (1/2 time), the finding of food, and a lower chance of dangerous encounters in-between events. Players with this skill get one free food resource tag and one free hide resource tag per event. These resource tags can be traded as normal.
keep wilderness survival in the exceptions for sage. The in between game thing looks to be an explaination for roleplaying purposes, but it seems as though they can get the tag anytime durring the event. So.. *sigh* either keep it in the exceptions of mimic or change wording of the second to last sentence of wilderness survival to -
"Players with this skill get one free food resource tag and one free hide resource tag
at the start of each event."
This way, it will be more in line with the Diplomat "Aquire" skill.
Again, I appologize if I'm being too anal.

nope, you're fine. I'd say at check-in to avoid any confusion with people showing up late, etc. No worries on the wordsmithing.

I do like "at check in" better. I only said "at the beginning of the event" as that's what Aquire says.

The political system is going to be confusing no matter what you do. It's a system to simulate what would happen in RP "off screen". I've yet to see a political system that wasn't somewhat complicated.
Privileged gets jacked on most everything else, political is what they do so they should get a bonus.

It needs to be looked at or IG people need to be told what they are helping out with. The new political system is more confusing then the old one was when you are at the end of the event filling out that support stuff.

Any rules that are not in the core rule book will be the focus this off season (political system, any type of character advancement that we might want to try next, etc). That's the reason they are not in the core rule book. FAQ clarifications can be expected on rules that are a part of the core rule book, as well as cleaning up any "mistakes" that are present.

What is confusing with the current political system? Examples would be great so it can be better explained.
And, the new politcal system is acutally easier and more staright forward than the old politcal system.
From what I have readed on the posts, it might be more of a RP thing. But please, examples of what is confusing would e very helpful.
Thanks.
