I rescued this from being run over this weekend at my racing school. No momma could be found so a couple and their kids (who had raised ducks and geese before) took it home with them.

well, if by duck, you mean goose, then yeah, (s)he was pretty cool. Very cuddly too. Almost took him/her as a pet, but decided having a large flying creature might draw some attention in the apt. Granted a stray cat decided to have kittens outside my parents house about 10 weeks ago so next week is trap cats and pack em up to a vet. Not real interested in finding a kitten floating in the pool...

So, are you swapping the goose for the cats so the goose can float in the pool instead?

Nah, the goose is in another state and the cats will be deported to somewhere other than outside the house. I'll still be petless. Though there is talk of a pair of turtles...

I always wanted to have a turtle and name it Puppy, but alas it never happened.
If you're serious about getting a turtle you gotta be careful, they can carry disease and often (especially when purchased from pet stores) can come with like internal parasite infestation....
If you were joking well, then. Yay turtles?
