I am tenatively planning to bring the family down. We've never been and I am really looking forward to it.

Mother Grove plays at Noon so I definitely wanted to catch part of that show, children willing. I haven't checked the drive time yet so I don't know what time I will expect to be there.

It would be great to meet up with you guys.

ok, we will try to be there between 12 and 1. I don't see the beer tent on the festival map though. If it's where Mother Grove will be playing, that might be easier to find.

I can't get too barley and hopsy though, we're visiting "Grandma the 'Don'" around dinner time to see if she's doing ok.

Sorry guys.

We're not going to make it. I have school work and Brad has Web work to do, so we're going to pass on the festivities. I think next year we should plan on getting a huge group together to head out there.

Have a fun time and drink a beer for me!

It was my and my family's first time to the Alma Highland Games. What a great time. It was HOT, at least for Michigan in May. We saw tons of pipe bands (includeing Muskegon's own). We saw Scottish atheletic games (kaber toss, hammer throw, etc) for the fist time. Much shopping. Good food. Met up with friends from http://www.xmarksthescot.com and http://www.finalhavenlarp.com . That was really great, Timber and Big Paul and Jim, Shane, and Christine (no photo). All of their families and friends! Woo hoo!

Oh yeah, and my son spent his own money to buy his first kilt. He's been asking about one, and we kept hoping to make it because buying it with shipping and everything was so much. But being there and him being able to try it on, we decided to go for it. Its a little big but he grows fast! Can you tell I'm proud? You should hear him talk about!
