For all of the fallen...

*Eilonwy walks from the inn to the large stone on the other side of the firepit, and for once, lets her voice ring clear down into the valley below.*
"Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone
Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone
When they come I will stand my ground
Stand my ground I’ll not be afraid
Thoughts of home take away my fear
Sweat and blood hide my veil of tears
Once a year say a prayer for me
Close your eyes and remember me
Never more shall I see the sun
For I fell.....my battles won
Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone
Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone"
*her voice gets softer*
"Where before many more have gone"
*sounding far away*
"Where before many more have gone"
*Somewhere, it almost seems as though another woman's voice picks up the melody and carries it away on the winds. A voice similar and yet not Eilonwy's. It seems to echo memories of other fallen warriors and whispers of places called Elthinar and Midway...*
(OOG: the song is from We Were Soldiers if anyone is interested in the melody. This was the english translation from the Scottish)
