The point is that in a fuedal system the commoners don't have enough sway with the priviledged or the heirarchy to increase or decrease allegiance. As far as the yellow pants thats why they get disgiuse.

I figured the disguise would be brought up. And generally, I wouldn't consider the spy increasing allegience directly. More like a document placed here or misplaced there. Asking someone for help when they should be off doing things for their guild. Saying you'll aid them but in the end delaying things due to things beyond your control. Or telling someone influential something bad so and so did. Like company politics. Those kinds of things.
