Salvatore leaned his axe against the bar and took a full step away, then fixed a stony glare directly at Esmerelda.

"With all due respect, Your Majesty, I ain't indicating that some form of punishment need be brought forth on the whole of the Silvani people, but there are some Children who needs be bent over a knee and taught some manners. I'm suggesting that perhaps some of these younger ones need a reminder of what happened in the past. But then again I'm all for anyone who is abusing magic to be taken out back at being put down. Perhaps it might be a wise idea for Her Majesty to recall The Dark Bane to service. I know full well my people would support such an action."

Despite the anger etched into his brow, a broad smile washes over his face.

"You realize of course, Queeny, that it's always one bad apple that makes the pie taste like manure."

:sapphire locked eyes with paeran as he too straightened his posture, he lifted his arm and the cape that had been draped on his shoulders rolled back revealing the hilt and cross guard of a large two handed sword that hung from a shoulder scabbard.

sapphire crossed his arms once again, however those that were close enough and paying attention could see that his was resting on the handle of the blade at hip. then, it would seem that sapphire noticed something that he had not before, the Lord Marshals heterochromatic eyes, one of white and one of black. upon this discovery he spoke quietly in valkyn vi and stepped back relaxing his stance. he bowed toward the queen, paeran and korrigan before exiting the inn at a more hastened pace than he usually traveled.:

*PM me what you said in Valkin'Vi please*

As the heat dissipates from his voice, the Lord Marshall releases his grip on the sword at his waist and turns to address the Queen in a low murmur

"You make it extremely difficult to care for your well-being my Queen, when no one knows where you are off to. Perhaps a bit more care in the future, as I would hate to see you kidnapped again."

From above the ground floor a soft rhythmic jingling could be heard, met only with the dull thud of one foot landing after the other, a small figure appearing upon the stairs of the inn. Bells and potion bottles hanging casually from a black leather jacket. An almost innocent looking face draped in dark hair, save for the tips which were a bright blue.

"Sapphire?" the word was spoken as more of a question, the figure looking about. Not seeing the one he sought he would blinking slightly, tiny tears beginning to well up "I was lefteded?..."

After a moments hesitation he would begin to sit upon the stairs, bottom lip quivering ever so faintly. Even the belled tip of his hat began to droop sadly. He didnt however get far in this process before a decently loud BOOM would echo from upstairs.

". . ." blink

". . ." blink blink

". . .Ooooooh dear. . ." tiny voice

With that he would leap to his feet and in a flourish of jingle jangles he would flee from the inn after his vanished friend "WAAAAAAIT FOR MEEEEE!!"

~: He'd almost stood. Truth be told he didn't exactly have as much control and frame of mind as Paer'An'. His hands had strayed to his blades, but things had of course unfolded so quickly. What was done was done, and the Lord Marshall had handled the situation in such a way that anything Legion did at this point would be mute and unfounded. So he just relaxed his grip, eased back against the bar and closed his eyes. :~

"Oh what a day, what a day..."

~: Unnecessary was the word that came to mind. Not so much for the occurrences thus far but for himself. The Queen had many guards, and if Paer'An' was with her his necessity would be at an all-time low as far as the duty he had entrusted to himself. So he would try and enjoy the time he had now...only to be interrupted by what? Bells? And a voice that grabbed at his consciousness, slammed it against a wall repeatedly as if to say "WAKE UP, YOU'RE HEARING THIS!" His head rose, looked to the stairs and the figure standing there. :~

"Now what.."

~: A midget? Are you f*#@ing kidding me? Was that a Guthrie that just bounded by, or was he imagining things again? A diminutive fellow that went hurtling after Sapphire? This...couldn't get any weirder. He let his head loll back again, closed his eyes. A Guthrie...just a Guthrie....snapped up so hard he almost pitched forward off his stool. On his feet now, out the door without another word to the Queen, the Lord Marshall or the enraged Dwarf. :~

The moment Alice heard the large boom and the diminutive figure ran past her, she looked up to where the noise had been heard. "What in Phanterra was that!?" she said loudly. It sounded like a small explosion, or something very heavy being dropped. Maybe someone was injured, she thought as her legs carried her up the stairs to investigate the matter...

*Korrigan appears just about to say something when the small figure appears at the top of the stairs. When the curious little fellow sits down, the barkeep turns back to the room and opens his mouth to speak again - only to be cut off by the sound of the explosion. His head tilts to the side and his mouth slides into a scowl as he looks towards the site of the explosion upstairs. He immediately glances towards the Queen, and seeing Paer'an close, turns back towards the stairs.*

"WHAT IN THE SWEET BLUE FUCK WAS THAT?"

*Korrigan points at the small figure as it runs for the door.*

"YOU! Get your jingly little ass back here! What the hell was that, and how are you going to pay for it?"

While everyone's attention was directed toward the front of the building, Tyr silently opens the back door of the inn and creeps toward the main lounge. He spies a close unoccupied table and seats himself subtly as not to draw attention. He acts as if he had been there all night.

This time there's no hesitation as the Lord Marshall spins towards the stairs and the sound of the explosion, cloak whirling around him and sword instantly flashing out of his scabbard. He notices Tyr slinking in through the backdoor but his attention is more focused on the diminutive blur of bells and hair as it races out the front door. His back is to the Queen, but only to ensure that what ever may happen next, she remains unharmed. After a few more minutes of waiting, he lowers his sword and turns towards Korrigan

"It appears you had an uninvited guest, Korrigan. I'm assuming nobody knows who that was gesturing with his sword at the front door, but he apparently knows Sapphire. That'd be your best bet on restitution, at least until we can find out who the mystery-midget is"

Believing the danger to be over, the Lord Marshall sheathes his sword and makes his way up the stair to assess the damage, and gather any information on the little fellow

Garritt stared wide-eyed at the figure as it screamed out the door, and then snapped back to the situation in the tavern common when he heard sounds of steel being drawn. He frowns, and looks into his ale.

"Ok, I'll grant you that was startling and maybe more than a little unsettling on several levels, but do you think you folks could be any more on edge around here?

Korrigan, I swear on everything I hold dear, if something horrible does indeed manage to burst through that door...you better have a good number of healers, because half this room is going to drop from the heart attacks alone, and Rylls says he's looking forward to the chance to see someone pucker so hard they actually implode.

(He looks to Esmerelda)

At the risk of telling you something you have heard a thousand times, you really should be accompanied by a weapon when you travel. That doesn't mean you personally have to be armed, though, only think about being with someone who can dispense "The Queen's Justice", as some kingdoms call it.

......Not that I don't respect royalty that can ably defend themselves, mind you. Back in Midea, we always joked that Gerard only called for his guards so someone could take away the assassins' bodies before they stained the carpet.

As Alice makes her way upstairs one of the doors stood completely closed....well many stood completely closed -however!- only -ONE- of these closed doors had thin multicolored wisps of smoke wafting from beneath its frame like a fragrant rainbow.

The scents would tingle and perhaps cloud the senses but otherwise may be determined as fairly pleasant to most. Were the door to be open the thin wisps would become a full on barrage of multicolored dancing smog. A rolling rainbow like cloud taking up the hallway momentarily before dispersing into nothingness.

Within said room however would be a true shock...

No nothing was destroyed, nor were there black scorch marks, nothing was on fire it seemed. Instead one would find that a sticky putty like substance of a coloring similar to the smoke....that is to say rainbowesk in nature.....clung to the walls...floor.....ceiling...oh hell it clung to the rooms everything...

A few beakers lay overturned rolling innocently upon the floor as though to say they had no such involvement with sudden and unexpected re-painting of the room...Thus came to be the first tie dye room the inn had ever seen.....more than likely...

Alice blinked in shock at the room. No one was injured. Nothing was destroyed. The colors were near blinding as she stared, mouth agape at the room. "Oh...my...goodness," she said in surprise.

Esmerelda watched the exchange between Sapphire and Paer' An with interest. As she was about to reply to her Lord Marshall's admonition of travelling without an escort the explsoion sounded followed by the fleeing Guthrie.

"Someone should probably go after him. But please," she added as an afterthought. "Bring him back unharmed!"

Looking ar Garritt she sighs. "If I can't walk a few hundred yards from the keep to the Inn, I think we're in more serious trouble than the kingdom can handle. Besides, ask Korrigan sometime about his theory of unarmed women and children versus armed parties chances of being attacked, it truly is facinating." She then gives the scout a level stare. "And besides, just because I don't carry a weapon openly doesn't mean that in many situations I can't take care of myself long enough to be able to call for help."

She then quickly follows Alice up the stairs to see what has transpired. Looking at Alice's reaction, she peeked into the room. Giving her an incredulous look, the Queen burst into laughter.

*Korrigan joins Alice and Esmerelda upstairs and glances into the room. He stands there for a moment, not speaking and just blinking into the riot of color.*

"Son of a... that's a lot of color."

*Korrigan laughs a bit, then taps his finger against his chin. He chuckles as he ponders aloud*

"Well, as long as that stuff is safe I suppose I could call it the 'Guthrie Suite' and charge an extra silver for it."

(In response to the last sentence Esmerelda gave Garritt, he raises his hands in mock surrender)

"Fair enough, fair enough. You're turning into the kind of royalty I like, you know that? (he smiles)

But just as seriously, mi'lady. Have a care after dark, at least. We've been waylaid several times by some craven Valken'Vi people are telling me is named Raviel. We formed a party to run him down, but lost him in the woods. You may be able to handle yourself, but a blade to the back is bad for anyone's health.
