*Dallid passes purposefully through the door*

"I offer you my aid, Atrum."

*The small guthrie, dressed in an array of yellows, greens, purples, and reds, walks into the Inn, sniffing the air, hoping that something delicious is cooking. Since the house of chance burned to the ground, this would be the place to go for a bed, a drink, and hopefully a warm homemade pie. He takes a seat near Trusk and the bear, leans back, and closes his eyes for a moment.*

~: And last but not least came the incredible edible Legion, eyes darting quickly for a headcount inside the Inn. Oh how he loved this place, from the hardened wood floor to the fireplace; the brilliant configuration of the windows allowing optimum lighting. He brought his hands together, fingers interlaced before a push brought cracks and pops from his joints. The same came from his neck as he tilted his head, and he brought his hood down shortly after. :~

"So, who does a daring, adventurous and seemingly nihilistic Rogue speak with to get a job around here?"

Esmerelda sighs and shakes her head.

"That's why wer're trying to stop them, Eli. And make no mistake, stop them we will."

She cannot help but smile when the small nose pokes its way out of Trusk's bag. "That's good that you're helping him with his meat, Trusk. I don't think Bitey is big enough to chew it up on his own. I think baby bears like berries if you can find any left. Or fish. Or honey. Just don't get stung if you try to get some. And don't let Bitey chew on Steve too much. We'll need him next month. But in the meantime, if you know of anyone who might assoiciate with team green who isn't a part of town and you can convince them to fight with us, please do so. Just make sure they understand that they are only allowed to kill they people we say it's okay to. But I thank you for your offer of assistance." She smiles warmly at Trusk, remembering their together when he escorted her to see the remnants of Woodhold.

At Legion's self introduction she raises an eyebrow and exchanges a glance with Atrum.

"What kind of job are you looking for? Right now we're planning a war."

*Goes into her pouch, pulls out a small bundle and unwraps it handing the bundle to Trusk.*

Here are some blackberries. I was going to save them for later but see if the baby bear there likes them. If so, I know a few places where they grow wild and you can get some.

*Afterwords Aurora on the wall near the door watching how things go with this Legion character obviously now distracted from rock throwing practice.*

"Well if its war council, I'd be more than happy to monitor troop movements, investigate our enemies military strength and possible encampments or research whatever you'd have me research. I'm very versatile, ma'am."

~: Ya, he was bragging a little bit. Ya, he was tooting his own horn. But he was confident in his abilities. After all, he'd gotten this far. Why not just push the envelope a whee bit more. And he could do anything he had mentioned and more. Whatever Esmerelda needed he would pledge himself to accomplish, so long as it was within his power. :~

*Smiles at Legion

"Well I for one can attest to his abiility to infuriate the enemy...He very nearly got his head chopped off for harassing the Elves in Sylvan'dar. He will be a valuable asset if we need to....inturupt certain practices..."

"And if not for your heroic charge Serith I would be a bit shorter and a bit more dead today! I would certainly love another chance to infuriate them so, but I must set aside my wants for the needs of the town. I have quite a few talents I'd love to put to use for the benefit of everyone here Esmerelda. Command me, for I am yours."

~: And Legion would bring his right arm across his waist, left arm behind his back as he made a rather cordial bow to the lady of the town. He wanted to do his part, all he needed were his marching orders. :~

Rhul walks from the kitchen, a cup of tea in his great hands.

If I am available to help in a month's time, is there anything I can do? People seem happy to ignore the fact that I can do more than simply kill things, especially lately, but I assure you I can help in other ways.

I may have lost all my books when Abaddon destroyed the House, but I still have friends in the area who are well read, or have similar access to knowledge. If I hurry, I could even make it to the Sanctuary and back, with time to go through their library.

He sighs

Though as cowardly as it may sound, I must admit I am a bit hesitant to throw myself into danger, given the infighting and non-information of late, though this does not in any way lessen my dedication towards the safety of our people, simply a feeling I have.

*The Guthrie opens his eyes and perks up at Esmerelda's mention of "team green"

To Esmerelda: "All of us in team green are great fighters... except for the goblin, but he can do useful goblin things like healing the wounded and fixing broken armor... and you have all of our full support in this war. After hearing what you told us at the feast, there is plenty of reason for all of us to pitch in and help. Just the thought of all of us being erased from existence by those bad elves is.... scary; even I think it's scary, and not much scares us guthrie. I will be there fighting alongside the people of this place, and if there is anything else I can do to help, just let me know."

Dallid, I was hoping you'd volunteer. We're going to need to move fast and keep heads cool and I think you will do both nicely.

*Looks at Es when she looks over*
He reminds me of so many that have come through our town, hopefully he lives longer or has the stones he claims.

I'm just saying that messing with time NEVER works out the way one expects. They could end up destroying themselves by playing around this way.

I'll see if I can contact the ageless one, but I wouldn't hold your breath, he didn't seem the type to be open to social calls, even from one that's saved his existence. As far as making the device, we'd need some things, including some fresh dragon meat. Think you can get your hands on that in less than a month? If so I could summon the spirit of your former guild leader and ask her how to work the device as she's the only one who mastered it save father T.

*Rhul looks to Eli*

In my opinion, the best thing we can do is stop them from succeeding in the attempt, and then destroy the process. The past should never be tampered with; it is what makes us what we are, and shapes the choices we make.

The ability to change outcomes before they can be written makes choices meaningless, and I would think it could and would change the present in ways entirely unforseen, however noble-minded we might be in making the attempt.

~: Realizing he wasn't going to get an answer to his question, Legion of Many decided to silently slip back out the door and away from the growing crowd. He wasn't angry with the outcome of his inquiry; there were far more who were obviously more useful to the town at this time. He'd still pitch in and use his abilities to their best. :~

"Hmmm...probably best to locate the gates that the Elves might be popping up...and track them as best I can..."

~: He took a seat on a stump, his fingers doddling on a stray trip-line to one of his own traps. He strummed it like the chord of a harp, enjoying each tiny little "twang!" as he sat in contemplation. After a bit he dug through his pockets, finding himself an ink pen, bottle and a rather large piece of unused parchment he kept. He began to draw out what he knew of the surrounding forest and countryside, marking key locations such as the Inn, where the House of Chance had been and the Portal. :~

"Good points of reference....I'm going to have to return to Avanguard...I'll hold off as long as I can, get some real work done here..."

~: Once he was done drawing his makeshift map he rolled it, put it back in his pocket and stopped. His gloved fingertips grazed over something else. A small book, hidden in a special compartment in his pants. He removed it, admiring the little brown leather book and all of its...contents. His eyes darted about. He had to find someone. Someone he trusted who wasn't going to Avanguard...someone to keep his little book safe. :~

~: After a bit of thought Legion stood, pocketed his book..and went to his own little tent to grab a few supplies. He had a few more tricks to play before he went on his own mission.. :~
