*Korrigan refills Sertith's tankard for him*

"No worries about the smile, Serith Darkheart. I don't mean to make a man do anything he doesn't wish to. I just want my customers to have a good time."

*Turning to Darkclaw, Korrigan grabs another tankard from the shelf and notices that the tankards are running low. 'Hey Kate!' he calls down the stairs. 'Unpack some more tankards and come on upstairs, we've got hungry customers!' Moments later the young woman brings Korrigan another rack of tankards and looks suprised to see an Inn full of people. She gives the crowd a quick curtsey and dashes back into the kitchen.*

"Welcome to the Tipsy Traveler, friend Darkclaw. I'm Korrigan Drochlann and this is my Inn. Let me get you something to drink and then you can tell me about your trade. I'm always looking for good help, and if today is any inclination, I'm going to need a lot of it. Start with some coffee, and I'll have Mary start on something for dinner. If you'd like something with a bit more kick, just ask."

*Korrigan nods a greeting to Esmerelda and when he hears her request disappears into the kitchen for a moment. He returns a moment later with a wax-sealed honey conb and a brick of sugar wrapped in cloth.*

"These should do ya, Milady. I've only got two requests: give that frizzy haired girl something extra for dumping snow down my armor in the snowball fight eariler, and run a few of whatever you whip up over here when you're done. Mary's got a sweet tooth and it's best I keep her happy. You're welcome to use the kitchen here if you'd like."

*Turns to Aurora*

"I'd be grateful for some of that tea, and I'm sure Mary would like a hand getting the cellar in order. You're welcome here whenever you'd like, Miss Aurora. Lend a hand from time to time and I'll keep a pot of coffee on for ya."

*Noting the arrival of a new customer, Korrigan grabs yet another tankard from the shelf and waves Anon towards an empty stool.*

"Welcome to the Tipsy Traveler, friend. I'm Korrigan Drochlann, and the first one is one the house. I've got spirits of all sorts, ales, meads, ciders, along with coffee and tea. Mary should have dinner ready in a while, so if you're interested stick around. What name do you go by, and what can I get you to drink?"

Esmerelda's smile finally reaches her eyes at Korrigan's words.

"Thank you so very much. This will help tremendously. I will be happy to drop some by for Mary when they're done. I'll send Lacey, since she seems to get on well enough with you in that snowball fight!" She laughs at the recollection. "Curtis and Joey were very impressed with your fighting prowess. In fact, don't be surprised if you get invited to the 'Grand Battle Royale to End All Battles' snowball fights that they're planning next week. I'm glad at least someone can enjoy all this snow. It does make laundry damned hard to do though, Keep to wash it in or now. Freezing is not the best way to dry clothes at all. Speaking of wish, I'd be happy to do any laundering you need done in exchange for the help in feeding the children."

The Painted Man opens to door to the Tipsy Traveller. He looks around quietly, eyeing Ren for a moment before focusing his gaze on Korrigan.

"I was hoping to come to some kind of cooperative agreement. We do not yet have liquid refreshment of any quality. We have just opened our tables.Perhaps something can be worked out?"

*Aurora smiles brightly at Korrigan.*

I promise the next time I stop by I'll bring that tea. I think I have some somewhere I just have to find it.

I drink either coffee or tea. Just normally I'm outside a lot and I just need something warm to eat or drink from time to time. Do you need me to start now assisting with the cellar Mr. Korrigan sir?

*Laughes when Esmerelda brings up the snowball fight*

If that's an open invitation for next week then I'm in. I owe someone for the nice snowball that ended up turning my hair into one bit white mess right before training.

*Sits at the empty stool and thinks for a second*

Name? I go by many names, but I can't really remember them, Oh, I know, call me Anon. I once knew a someone called that and everyone liked him so I guess you can call me that.

*Stares at the assorted bottles of liquids*

Um...I'll have whatever is your best cider.

*While waiting for the drink he turns his head smiling to the others from under his hood, and hears the Abaddon's words*

Opened tables? Mind me asking what is meant by that?

*Korrigan regards Esmerelda with a grin.*

"You're welcome, milady, and I'll meet those boys on the field of battle! It'll be a dark day indeed when I let a few scruffy kids beat me in combat... again! You tell 'em to be ready!"

*Laughing, the barkeep reaches into his breastplate and pulls a bit of snow out. He looks at it and makes an exaggerated grimace.*

"Frisky little wigglers, anyway. Can't believe they climbed a tree on me. I'll likely take you up on that laundry offer as well, you just tell me what you need for the littleun's and I'll see you get it."

*Noting the Abaddon's appearance, Korrigan prepares another tankard and motions toward one of the few empty stools at the bar.*

"Cooperative agreement, ay Abaddon? Tables? I'm always up for scratchin' someone's back when they're scratchin' mine, so what did you have in mind? Think about what you'd like to drink and we'll discuss it in a moment."

*Korrigan makes a quick circuit of the bar, filling anyone's drink who indicates they'd like another round. He stops at Aurora's mug and steps back into the kitchen to refill the coffee pot. When he returns he places the fresh pot on the bar in front of her.*

"Aurora, the cellar can wait till tomorrow. Mary's going to be busy with dinner anyway. Like I said, you help keep us in good shape and we'll keep you in coffee and hot meals. Thanks in advance for the tea, miss. I'm sure it'll be popular with the folks in these parts."

*Bending to fill a tankard from a barrel that is clearly underneath the bar itself, Korrigan tops off the tankard of chilled cider and hands it to Anon.*

"Here ya go, Anon, best cider in the house. Drinking that is one of my favorite ways to lose a hour or two... hell, it's one of my favorite ways to lose a whole week, so enjoy!"

*Korrigan looks down the bar to make sure everyone is settled for the moment and then returns his attention to Abaddon.*

"So, friend, what can I get you to drink and what sort of deal did you have in mind?"

*Aurora obviously a bit more energetic then her usual self grins in amusement and goes back to talking to Korrigan her green eyes sparkling.*

Thank-you for the refill Mr. Korrigan sir. I'll try to help out as much as I am able for I'm also helping out Esmerelda and then there are lessons and then well just trying to keep an eye on things.

The tea is just something I drink from time to time. Looks over at the keg of dwarven ale. The dwarven is the preferred drink of choice around here among the fighters, that I can tell you.

I have a regular blend and a more fruity variety....I think. As I said I'll have to check and see what all I have among my supplies but you are welcome to them.

*She pauses*

Humm...I wonder if Uncle is going to want to go hunting later to see if we can find anything.

*Anon smiles at the tankard and grabs it and takes a big gulp, coughing a little after doing so*

That's good. Thank you barkeep, though I won't be able to pay for any other drinks...unless you or anyone here is in any need of a healer,

*pauses then smiles*

but then again I could never charge for my healing, I give it freely to anyone who needs it.

*Darkclaw slowly drinks the hot coffe savering every sip. When the food comes out, he does the same. Sheer joy can be seen on his face and contenment can be seen in his eye's*

Well met master Korrigan. I thank you for the drink and food. The services I offer range from manual labor to a highly skilled bodyguard. I have many years of experience in the art of war and can use it for protection or I can teach those willing to listen. I have seen and been through much and willing to do the lowest jobs if need be to fill my belly and have a good roof over my head. I have gone with out to many times and know what a blessing a soft bed is and hot food can be.

*Darkclaw turns to Esmerelda*

My sincere regrets and sympathy's to those of Haven. I know what it is to loose friends and family. It wounds the soul and sometimes one never recovers *Looks of sadness and lonelynes crosses Drakclaws face*

*Darkclaw turns back to the group*

So, what is this town called and where on the map are we?
What are the laws of this land and town? I really don't want to accendently break any laws and end up in jail for my ingorance.
And who is in charge here in this town? I should make my self know to them as a curitsy.

"Korrigan. I was thinking of two things. One, we will give you chits, or credit for give us ale. The second, is that you would accept our gambling chits for drinks.

The house of Chance has a fairly well stocked resource trove. Our chits will be backed by this trove. We have a price list that we will be using for gambling.

If you agree to use accept these for libations, you can come trade them in, or use them to gamble. How does this sound?" Abaddon says. His painted face, shows very little emotion, but his eyes show a keen interest. Yazel, the large spider moves restlessly against the Valkyn'vi's shoulder.

Esmerelda smiles at Korrigan, but again, it does not reach her eyes.

"That tree trick was a nasty one. I think Curtis may make an excellent strategist yet." With a sigh she affectionately adds, "Even if he puts more holes in his clothing than all the other boys combined. I will be certain to pass along that you would be interested in joining them. It's very kind of you. With all the work that needs to be done here, not many of the adults have had a lot of time for the children. They all know that, and are always appreciative when a 'grown up' takes time with them. Except for me, of course." She laughs "As Em once informed me, I am merely another child in disguise." A look of sorrow crosses Esmerelda's face at the mention of her former ward.

Turning to Darkclaw, she says. "Thank you for sympathy. It is much appreciated. We have all been through much. I am sorry if you too have been through a similar experience." As she speaks, she makes sure to look Darkclaw in the eye. As she speaks, it's as if she drops an inner wall and he can see in her eyes a deep grief and loss. "I lost someone who meant the world to me." She hesitantly steps forward and puts a hand tenatively on his arm. "But be welcome here, amongst companions if not friends. And know that should you wish, you do not have to be alone again."

*Darkclaw turn to Esmerelda*

Thank you for making me feel welcomed. It has bee some time somebody did that. Again thank you.

*Darkclaw turns to Korrigan*

So what would you have of me good dwarf. Do you want me to teach, protect, haul heavy thing's around, *Smiling* I could try to sing and entertain, but I might drive more people away than entertain them.

*Turning to Abaddon*
Chits uhh, so what are chits made out of? I hope it is something hard to duplicate or come by? If it isn't, people will be taking advantage of you good sir. And gambling, I didn't realize this town was that secured and prospereous to have an actual gaming hall. So what type of games do you have and what are your trade ratios. I don't have chits, but I do have weapons and hides I could gamble with. And once I take your chits, what can I trade for them?

by Abaddon
"Sir, every town, no matter it's size deserves to have some entertainment. Our chits are made from a rare magical marble. They are indeed hard to duplicate.

We have three games, and always welcome new ones. Our main attraction is 3 dragon ante. as of today it has a 50 chit buy in, with 5 for the house. Game proceeds until your chits are gone. All bets are backed by the house, and if the player goes negative, the house pays the winner, and take son the debt of the loser.

We have roulette, a simple game where you bet on a number or color and spin a wheel. it is very entertaining.

lastly we have Liars Dice. A dice game about lies and guessing.

As far as values, our prices change depending on availability, but we pay 20 for mystic, 5 for a magic component, 1 for a food, 5 for a supply, ten for a cloth, and 15 for hide or steel.

weapons, or items we will asses. we will have list of what potions go for.

we have full staff, and will make items for the cost as well. we are always willing to negotiate for recipes, spells, and blueprints.

we offer a limited selection of libations as well, and a warm fire. "

*Aurora raises and eyebrow*

Ummm...Mr Abaddon sir why would one want to gamble away their things. I mean I know I don't have a lot to speak of.

*Turns to Esmerelda*

I know I need to head back over this afternoon I promised what 5 of the children I'd give them piggy-back rides and work more on that game I was teaching them on where to go in case of an emergency.

As for Curtis *she grins*

To tell you the truth he reminds me of me a little.

"Indeed. Why would they want to fight over things and land either for that matter? I mean, the stakes are much higher that way. The truth is simple. Each mortal , in their heart of hearts thinks their going to win. They think they are going to come out ahead. That seed is called hope, and it springs eternal. For the winner, hope is replenished, for the loser, hope returns." Abaddon said.

"also, some just like to play cards, and enjoy it more when there is something at stake."
