One thing I have to say is lets not over complicate the game. Simple is better. The two characters I have played are simple characters. No hidden special talents. No cool powerful item. Hell, I've only had one magic item ever. Nothing special.
What I am trying to get at is that you don't need cool talents or weapons to make your character cool. You just need to know who he/she is and stay true to your path with them. You make your character powerful by your actions.
